Plastic industry
Plastics consumption in a Car
Engineering plastics are a group of plastic materials that have better mechanical and/or thermal properties than the more widely used commodity plastics (such as polystyrene, PVC, polypropylene and polyethylene).
Being more expensive, engineering plastics are produced in lower quantities and tend to be used for smaller objects or low-volume applications (such as mechanical parts), rather than for bulk and high-volume ends (like containers and packaging).
Engineering plastics have gradually replaced traditional engineering materials such as wood or metal in many applications. Besides equalling or surpassing them in weight/strength and other properties, eng plastics are much easier to manufacture, especially in complicated shapes
Examples
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)
Nylon 6
Nylon 6-6
Polyamides (PA)
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)
Polycarbonates (PC)
Polyetheretherketone (PEEK)
Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK)
Polyetherketone (PEK)
Polyketone (PK)
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
Polyimides
Polyoxymethylene plastic (POM / Acetal)
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
Polyphenylene oxide (PPO)
Polysulphone (PSU)
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE / Teflon)
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)

Thermoplastic elastomers ( Thoda Gyan)
What is a Polymer?
It is necessary to explain some basic points before providing detailed information about Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE).( From Elastron)
A polymer is a large molecule made of repeating small and simple chemical units. They are classified as follows according to their formation ability. TPEs (thermoplastic elastomers) belong to the elastomer class.
There was a clear distinction between rubber and plastics before TPEs were introduced. Rubbers are soft, flexible, and elastic, whereas plastics are known to be hard and rigid.

Some Gyan on Cement ( all copy paste(civilread.com)
Cement is primarily characterized into two types:-
1Hydraulic cement
2Non-hydraulic cement.
Hydraulic cement:
The cement which hardens in the presence of water because of Hydration
This type of cement can also harden in underwater. Portland cement is the best example for hydraulic cement.
Non Hydraulic cement:
The cement which doesn’t harden underwater is called non-hydraulic cement.
This type of cement hardens when it reacts with the atmospheric carbon dioxide (carbonation). This cement is resistant to attack by chemicals after setting. Non-hydraulic cement is manufactured using non-hydraulic lime, gypsum plasters and oxychloride, which has liquid properties
