Freshwater on the Isle of Dogs & ASDA & the failure for a generation to plan ahead properly
For the ASDA scheme, Thames Water have said 3 times now on the 10th Feb 2020, 17th June 2020 & 12th Feb 2021 that there is not enough water

On 19th May 2014 & 10th July 2014 Thames Water sent similar emails about issues with South Quay Plaza & Meridian Gate (aka The Madison) both on Marsh Wall close to ASDA both partially occupied by residents
"existing water supply infrastructure has insufficient capacity"

South Quay Plaza nothing happened no condition was added
Meridian Place a condition was added but I cannot find any evidence of it being enforced
So for years Thames Water have said there are issues about whether their network has enough water for future developments

@HardwickRalph & I have had numerous meetings with Thames Water over the years & even got their CEO to mention the need for water here a few years ago
But as yet no evidence of any actual work to improve water & sewage capacity from Abbey Mills to E14

I wrote to the Councils planning committee a summary of the issues before their decision tonight
In theory, Thames Water have a statutory responsibility to supply fresh water but we maybe building ahead of capacity
Impact would be on older properties without water tanks &

pumps as new buildings will have water tanks/pumps to smooth out the flow
As far as I know, no major investment in water & sewage capacity on the Isle of Dogs since the 1980's?
We should not build on ASDA site until we are sure of the expansion of water & sewage capacity
