241-page transcript of former Trump White House Counsel Don McGahn's June 4th closed interview with the House Judiciary Cmte on the Trump-Russia probe has been released. judiciary.house.gov/uploadedfiles/…
Judiciary Chair Nadler: "Mr. McGahn provided the Cmte w/substantial new information including firsthand accounts of President Trump’s increasingly out of control behavior, & insight into concerns the fmr President’s conduct could expose both Trump & McGahn to criminal liability."
Nadler (D-NY): "Mr. McGahn also confirmed that President Trump lied when he denied the accuracy of the Mueller report, and admitted that he was the source for a Washington Post report that confirmed Trump’s direction to McGahn to remove the Special Counsel."
Nadler (D-NY): “All told, Mr. McGahn’s testimony gives us a fresh look at how dangerously close President Trump brought us to, in Mr. McGahn’s words, the ‘point of no return'."
McGahn to House Judiciary Cmte on his resignation as Trump White House Counsel on October 17th, 2018: "I had been on the job almost 2 years, and I think it was time to move on, and I decided I wanted to leave the White House."
McGahn: "And I had contemplated that for a while, and I was sticking around to finish up the Brett Kavanaugh nomination that had recently completed. And once that was over, it was time to go home."
Judiciary Top R Jordan:"On June 4,fmr WH Counsel Don McGahn appeared before the Cmte for a closed-door transcribed interview. Contrary to Democrats' endless accusations, the interview uncovered no evidence of misconduct, wrongdoing, or criminality on the part of President Trump."
Jordan (R-OH): "The interview uncovered no nefarious plot to stifle ongoing investigations in relation to the Mueller probe or other related inquiries into the Trump Administration."
Jordan (R-OH): "If there is any clear conclusion from the interview, it is that the Democrats over promised when it came to McGahn's testimony and failed again to find any wrongdoing on the part of President Trump."
Pelosi: “The fact that McGahn testified is a victory for Democracy.  It is a resounding vindication of the House’s subpoena powers, which are a pillar of our system of checks of balances that ensure that Congress can pursue the truth for the American people.”
Pelosi: “The truth is that Donald Trump was impeached for his egregious and unprecedented violations of our Constitution and our Democracy.”
Pelosi: “It is imperative that all administrations respect the Congress’s authority to conduct oversight and consider legislation on behalf of the American people, including its subpoena power.”
Trump: "I have been totally exonerated in Congress by the testimony of former White House lawyer Don McGahn. It came, it went, and it was a big 'nothingburger'."
