Well I’ve been labeled white supremacist for suggesting different cultures and languages have difficulty with pronunciation of other languages and we should be gracious and open to learning new ways of speaking and saying words and names.
I think all of us would be appreciative of a better understanding of other cultures and pronunciations but we can’t really achieve this without patience and grace from the other language.
Now medscape is really sorry I’m tweeting for them next week

Does anyone know the actual mutations in this scariant? I haven’t found anything but vague reports that make it sound like B117 and B1617 were gettin’ together and making little baby viruses washingtonpost.com/world/vietnam-…
Viruses do not reproduce sexually but some microbes are prolific in swapping genes fwiw
B1617 has the L454R and the E484Q mutations at the tip of the spike protein (there are others too but these are thought to be the important ones. B117 has N501Y which seems to increase infectiousness.
I’m offended by LA’s weather often being nicer than mine. People in LA who want to be inclusive really need to consider my feelings before they Instagram.
I’m a very reasonable COVID restrictions person so if you say I’m drinking the kool-aid you are blocked.
I’m 100% in favor of removing mask mandates for vaccinated and moving forward with opening up. I think the unvaccinated gen pop can figure out what they want to do and live with the consequences. The immunocompromised and young kids living with them need to be careful for longer.
You gotta believe in highly effective vaccines generating neutralizing antibodies or you don’t.
Anniversary of me taking this pic of my kid’s food and sending it to my medical friends “what the hell is this?”
In another few weeks it would look like this, and the second kid came to me with similar but milder toe findings, and we all figured out we’d probably had COVID about 8 weeks after the fact. 🤷🏻♀️ #covidtoes
Subsequent derm papers showed actual virus particles in the small vessels in the feet of similar patients, also patterns of type 1 interferonopathy vasculitis.
My favorite podcast voice has to be Laura Beil @LJBeil from Dr. Death.
lots of updates since I listened, so I’m restarting from the beginning. By myself, because it is too gruesome for the rest of the family. Chuckling at the idea of the hospital hiring a marketing guy for the new spine surgeon (they can’t run psychiatrists out fast enough)
Wonder if my dad heard this story when my mom was getting spinal surgery he asked me to research the doctor and dig up any dirt I could find. (Well trained surgeon and everything went great fortunately)
