On Sunday morning, for the first time anywhere, the six current candidates to defeat Ron Johnson each spoke about their vision for replacing our terrible Republican Senator with a great new Democratic one. Read all about that here:

And there was so, so much more—a ton of party business including debates and votes on our state party Constitution, Platform, and Resolutions; caucus and youth subunit meetings and elections; trainings—and the reelection by acclamation of our state party officers, including me!
Thank you to everyone who ran for election to party leadership roles at any level, to the delegates who took the time to cast their votes, and to all our guests. And thanks for the opportunity to lead once again. It’s the honor of a lifetime.

Our 2021 WisDems virtual state convention will be a two-day event, celebrating victories, rallying our grassroots who made those wins possible, and hearing from Democratic leaders about how we build and strengthen our party.
On Sat evening, we’ll have our Congressional delegation—Sen Tammy Baldwin & Congressmembers Ron Kind, Gwen Moore & Mark Pocan; Gov Evers (the inspiration for our convention theme this year, “Badger Bounceback”!); Lt. Gov Mandela Barnes; and a keynote from Secretary Julián Castro.

THREAD: Ron Johnson is set to take center stage today at the Milwaukee Press Club. It’s easy to focus on his extremist conspiracy theories, but let’s use this moment to look at his legislative record. TLDR: he’s continuously failed Wisconsinites when it mattered the most. 1/
Last week, Johnson led the charge to obstruct the passage of the U.S. Innovation & Competition Act which would provide investments in tech jobs for education & training for workers, hold the Chinese gov't accountable for cyber attacks, & reduce U.S. economic dependence on China.
If Johnson succeeded in killing the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act, he could cost Wisconsin BILLIONS of dollars in future economic growth. He’s trying to kill investment in tomorrow’s high-wage, high-tech jobs. jsonline.com/story/money/bu…

The GOP’s desperation to cover up the crimes of January 6 comes from knowledge of complicity. They can’t bear the re-airing of the truth: how so many Republicans fanned the conspiracy theories that led to the deadly insurrection.
Another reason Ron Johnson doesn’t want an investigative commission: it would torpedo the obvious misinformation he himself has been pushing ever since. Here he is on Fox News saying “Even calling it an insurrection, it wasn’t! … By and large it was peaceful protest…”

Wisconsin is on a perpetual knife’s edge. We’re the only state in the country that’s had under 1% margins in 4 of the last 6 presidential elections. Our great Governor, Tony Evers, won by 1.1% in '18. Our awful Senator, Ron Johnson, is the most vulnerable incumbent in the Senate.
In the House, we’re home to one of the seven Congressional districts in the nation where Trump won but a Democrat took the House seat. Republicans only need five of them to get a majority. So winning downballot in Wisconsin is critical too!

BREAKING: Republicans in Wisconsin began the legislative special session called by @GovEvers to expand Medicaid… and then ended it after 40 seconds without even holding a vote. Here’s what they refused to fund in their own districts: 🧵
Accepting federal funding for Medicaid expansion—called BadgerCare in WI—would bring $1.6 billion to our state. That would go directly into funding projects benefitting Wisconsinites across the state, *including in Republican state legislative districts.*
These economic development projects include a slew of proposals that Republicans have specifically urged. So let’s make it crystal clear to voters that their own Republican legislators are blocking funds that would benefit their communities.
