I’m sure there are kind-hearted, well intentioned liberals out there. I’ve just never encountered any on twitter.
I know 1 or 2 in real life. But they are more like the Steve and Elyse Keaton from “Family Ties.” Basically good people with different ideas, but you can talk to them. Reason with them. And they don’t scream “Nazi white supremacist fascist nationalist homophobe!” in your face.
I almost feel like I need to be here on twitter to try to convince far left, unhinged moonbats that’s their hatred is misplaced and unfounded. I try to reason with them. Try to show the value of basic human decency. But it fails EVERY damn time.
It’s kind of sad, actually. It shouldn’t be that way, and it’s probably too late to stop it. They literally demand to be met in the streets, where mob rule will ultimately determine what’s right. It’s un-American.
But if the challenges are continually laid down, with actual violence occurring in the streets, and when one side proclaims that America is the great Satan, the flag is a symbol of hatred and white supremacy, and demands are made to abolish the Constitution, what’s to be done?
Should we say “Meh. It’s just a bunch of bluster from unhinged people. They aren’t serious.” But aren’t they? It’s more than bluster. Washington DC set on fire during Trump’s inauguration. Two billion in property damage last year. Those who HATE America being elected (Ilhan Omar)
Aren’t we being forced to react in ugly ways? Aren’t we being forced to defend the nation that has provided freedom and economic relief to anyone who asks for it? Isn’t the shining city on the hill worth defending? Yes. I think so.
Consequently, I’ll stay on twitter and will continue to mock the far left voices. Praying that something I say, somewhere along the line, will soften them just a bit. That is all.
