Friday night Tweetstorm, here we go!

This week, I'm watching a legendary(?) VHS.

Let's dig in!
Well, this looks promising! Image
In case you were wondering.

I might also assume this title has something to do with Glockstore, located in this complex. Image
I've watched a LOT of VHS in my day, but I never remember seeing on with music under the FBI warning card.
Aww yiss Image

"We're here to shed some light on a dark, dark area...that is also protected by the United States Constitution...that's why it's difficult for us as law enforcement officers to really investigate...." Image
Could it also be, perhaps, Gordon, that your own biases are getting in the way of your objectivity regarding what is and is not criminal behavior?

He goes on about how "normal" is presented as "abnormal" and how this is a threat to our communities and our country.
"We *know* what the Satanic cult professes to believe. We know what their propensity for violence might be...However, unless we catch them *actually breaking the law*...we have no case.

In other words, this video is *AT BEST* rumors and heresay. Let's have fun!
"There are deeper reasons that go beyond the lust for power and the unlimited drugs and deviant sexual behavior that go with it."

Maybe I want to go undercover in one of these organizations. You know, to uh, gather evidence.
Also, for the record, this whole opening thesis is being played over repeated stills of various imagery from Norse, Japanese, Mezoamerican, and even Judeo-christian traditional artwork.

Anything that looks "abnormal", I suppose.
"Men are apprehensive for the sake of their wives and daughters. Women are apprehensive for the sake of their children."

Also, they're starting to dip into a little BDSM kink shaming, declaring it Satanic "abnormal sexology"
I'm still trying to figure out what the whole "Satanic" angle has to do with prosecuting a crime.

It's apparently imperative for an LEO to identify Satanic behavior and prosecute it appropriately?
I think we found who Donald Trump took public speaking lessons from.
Pagans, Satanists, Occultists, homosexuals, they're all the same.
"This is a pentacle. But it's not a Satanic one because it's pointing up." Image
White, red, and black are the predominant colors of the Satanic movement.

Just look at all these Satanic flags in my emoji keyboard!
🇪🇬🇮🇶🇸🇾🇾🇪
"These aren't witches. These are DEFINITELY Satanists"
For some reason, the editor kept going back to this graphic. Ostensibly, it's a map of the park where they shot the interview, but there's no changes. They don't indicate position or anything! It's like they just didn't have anything else to break the takes with. Image
Seems like Anton LaVey was onto something there 🤔 Image
"Behind me is the city of San Francisco. A city best known as the site of the first Satanic church in America."

I'm sure other attractions like the Golden Gate, Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, and cable cars just slipped his mind! 🤦‍♂️ Image
The basic tenets of the Church of Satan? Image
Well, this all seems like just a few little silly...WAIT WHAT?!?!? ImageImageImageImage
"Now remember: ALL Satanic people do NOT commit crimes."

It's a little early for that kind of plot twist, Gordy. Image
"These may or may not be Satanic rituals, but they're important to note in your reporting... follow-up investigations might indicate a deeper need to look into the dark side of your community." ImageImageImageImage
This is just me talking, but I'd say that if you're a cop and you *don't* report black market baby selling, you probably shouldn't be a cop.
Satanism in the UK Image
That new Metallica track is a banger! Image
The next section of the video goes on to list signs of child sexual abuse as possible Satanic ritual activity AS IF THE CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IS THE LESSER PROBLEM HERE
"Talk to these kids and find out what's going on in their lives that might be troubling them. Don't ignore them."

THAT'S THE FIRST LUCID THING YOU'VE SAID ALL DAY, GORD!!! Image
LOTS of sex on the Satanic calendar. Image
The next 15 minutes goes into minute detail on the SFPD investigation of the Clifford St. Joseph/John Doe 60 murder case.
If your daughter comes home with these Sharpie marks, ask her about her Satanic practices. Image
In summary, there's a lot of information for the beat cop about how to identify possible abuse victims, but the video focuses so much on the possible Satanic aspects that it kinda forgets that a crime has been committed regardless of perceived motive.
It's almost as if the point is that crimes are the literal work of the Devil and that people who commit those crimes are doing so in the name of Satan.
I was hoping for more "Dungeons and Dragons is evil" Satanic Panic nonsense, but I got a confused, rambling essay about supposed Satanist, witchcraft, and Voodoo symbology with no real point and an unnecessarily long play-by-play of the Clifford St. Joseph case.
Watch the first 20 minutes or so, and you'll have the gist. Anything past that and you'll start to hate yourself.

It should come as no surprise that I'm a bit of a hockey fan. If you've followed me for any amount of time, you've likely seen the occasional #AnaheimDucksGOOOAAALLL or even the #BelieveInBlueland hashtag peppering my Twitter timeline.
Truth is that my love of hockey goes WAY back. I discovered the sport thanks to a particular 1992 Disney film. I grew up outside Atlanta, so hockey really wasn't a thing people understood or even knew about--other than we beat the Soviets in it that one time at the Olympics.
Every so often, I might've been able to catch the last few minutes of a Knights game if I were flipping through channels and saw it at the right moment--assuming the reception was decent enough to see what was going on (Kennesaw Mountain is hell on TV signals, especially today).

Hey, remember that iMac I was working on last week? The one that I was putting Mojave on just 'cause? Well, I told you I had a project in mind for it!
Also: For the record, it's an early 09 model, not a 10.
Anyway, I've always been a bit of a broadcasting nut. I always loved/hated the politics, the business, and the technology of commercial broadcasting.

In fact, in high school/early college, I wanted to make a career of it.

Let's take a trip, shall we? I used to use this 2010 iMac at my office before it became hopelessly outdated. It's spent close to the last half decade in storage at the shop (just off the left side of the screen in videos, actually). I'm gonna try to repurpose it Image
I forgot the account password, so I'm going to reinstall the OS Image
Silly me! Despite the wallpaper, it already has Mavericks on it Image

Dug this thing out of a box a while ago. Never had a chance to play with it until now.
I'm an XBMC user from WAY back (8.10), and--despite the fact that Boxee had violated the license in making this commercial product--I was actually excited about a set-top box that any Joe Schmoe could plug in and use. Alas! It was just a little ahead of it's time.
I was an early adopter of the concept, rolling my own HTPC from a used Dell Optiplex that I picked up for $100 at a local refurbisher. That thing lasted me several years until I had to downsize!
