@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST 3/ I've been thru Fresno, CA's frightening, abusive shelter systems. Unicorn in it. No smoking, drinking, drugs, or crimes. Just epilepsy and photo sensitive epilepsy.
@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST I've witnessed a world of hurt and needless suffering. People unable to get housed and disability, or any decent help. Social Security plays games with our lives: takes yrs to be approved for disability, in most cases, with many denials. Forces people to give up. Chaos on sts.

@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST 5/ So here I sit, with a complicated hidden disability (epilepsy and photosensitive epilepsy to: color red, stripes, light going thru trees, concert lighting, movies, and the like. None for me. Spikes electricity in my brain. Seizure danger.)

@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST @FresnoState 7/ While working for a Silicon Vly law firm, I had to leave due to epilepsy. My medical team filled out CA state disability forms. I received income every 2 wks, paid bills, got medical care, and no chaos.
@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST @FresnoState 8/ I promptly received CA state disability payments, which I had paid in to. 1 month or less from paperwork submission. Same problem. No immediate help from gov, either CA or feds. I met other epileptics in homeless shelters. 💔 We don't belong. Not our problem.
@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST @FresnoState 9/ At shelters, I was threatened with rape, murder, had Rx's stolen, subjected to abusive, untrained, couldn't-care-less staff, who kicked us out for ANY reason. They are part of the homeless problem! I'm so angry that I'm filing a complaint with the civil grand jury.

@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST @FresnoState 11/ I've been hospitalized for: two cases of food poisoning from transitional shelters, the second case so bad it was nearly fatal according to the surgeons, dehydration and bleeding (internal), asthma, cardiac problems, and more seizures. All preventable by housing!

@DanPriceSeattle @dtripp4801 @FDRLST @FresnoState 13/ The silver lining in the cloud: I used my paralegal skills/law ofc experience in court-appointed conservatorships to get a homeless schizophrenic vet on sts 4 yrs into VA housing, disability $, stable on all meds, including mental illness & diabetes. He has a little job! 🎉
