Completely outplayed
Galloway signage everywhere in Batley and Spen. Delivering leaflets claiming it’s a two horse race and calling on Labour to drop out.
Galloway’s campaign tells me response is organic in constituency and growing and there’s a big anti-Starmer vote. I ask Galloway why he’s standing given he was standing in Scotland just a few weeks ago. He accuses me of helicoptering into the constituency.
One thing is true- the constituency is plastered with Labour/Galloway posters (Galloway’s are all in Labour colours). Far fewer Conservative ones. If you knew nothing you’d assume it was a 2 horse race, even though net result of Galloway is to make Tory victory more likely.
