Health Minister Adrian Dix says it is critical we continue momentum of getting first vaccine. #bcpoli
On delay of restrictions in the UK and the Delta variant, Dr. Henry says they are making sure there are contact tracing resources. Says testing and tracking will continue to be part of re-opening. #bcpoli
Henry mentions the whole genome sequencing. Says the province is monitoring very closely and mentions a care home with a Delta variant outbreak. #bcpoli
BC is in a different place than the UK because the immunization rates have been higher among young people here compared to there. Henry - "That puts us in a slightly better position." #bcpoli
On having booster (or second shot), Henry says if you are exposed to that variant it is unclear whether it can evade vaccine or whether it's just more transmissible. #bcpoli
On FIBA qualifier in Victoria, Dr. Henry says they are working wit organizers on proposal. No decisions have been made on fans yet. Premier Horgan mentioned earlier he didn't expect any fans. #bcpoli
On cruise ships this calendar year, Dr. Henry says there are conversations happening. There needs to be a high rate of vaccination among staff and cruisers. Canada is watching US guidelines and what is happening with the industry. #bcpoli
Premier Horgan says her will meet with PM and the other premiers on re-opening Canadian borders on Thursday. #bcpoli
On vaccination supply, Dix says BC is expecting Pfizer over the next few days. In the last week of June BC will get 962,000 doses of Moderna. #bcpoli
Dix says there is more capacity in the system (up to 80,000 doses). Doesn't sound like the province will expand distribution of the vaccine to pharmacies. #bcpoli
On people remaining seated in restaurants or banquet halls, Dr. Henry says no dancing and singing. Says BC did this successfully last summer. WorkSafe inspections will continue. #bcpoli
On what could cause step back, Horgan says BC has been thoughtful and there was a big push BC resisted to open up sooner. #bcpoli
Horgan says the province is going to continue to push back on people travelling to BC from outside of the province. #bcpoli
