Sundarban area in Ganga delta consists of 100+ islands formed by innumerable creeks and tributaries of Ganga-Bidyadhari-Matla-Noni-Ichamoti-Raigmangal rivers.
Out of 54 inhabited islands, we could reach out to only 2-HerambaGopalpur & Moipit

Salt resistant paddy seeds were given by Govt last year but productivity of those are less.
People survived through wages received from MNREGA
and Rural road & bridge projects
Rice & dal given through PDS & miniscule flood relief done by voluntary groups just kept them alive

Demand has totally collapsed. Bazars are closed not because of lockdown but nobody has any money to buy.
Bharat Sebashram Sangha & Red Volunteers are running kitchens for few hundreds but thats nothing in comparison to 40 lakh people who need relief
