Organizations including Black Lives Matter, Demand Justice, Women's March and the Sunrise Movement are running a full-page ad in Politico to pressure Breyer to step down now "for the good of the country."
“With future control of a closely divided Senate uncertain, President Biden must have the opportunity to nominate a successor without delay and fulfill his pledge to put the first Black woman on the Supreme Court," they say.

The groups are ratcheting up pressure on Breyer after McConnell said Monday that it is "highly unlikely” that he would let Biden fill a Supreme Court vacancy in 2024 if Republicans regain the Senate ― and possibly even earlier.

This new Texas law specifies all kinds of things relating to racism -- structural, historical -- that social studies teachers aren’t allowed to talk about as part of a course.

Let's see what they are!

The Senate is currently voting to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

CNN quietly ended its contract with Santorum this week, a CNN senior executive tells me.

The decision to cut ties with Santorum came shortly after he went on Chris Cuomo's show, where he attempted to explain his racist remarks.

He blew it. For everyone.

On Weds, 175 House Republicans voted against creating a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Of course they did.

So many of them are complicit in what happened that day and they don't want to talk about it. huffpost.com/entry/republic…
Reasons Republicans have given for not supporting an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate the insurrection:

*It's duplicative. (It's on the same track as the 9/11 commission.)

*It's partisan. (Pelosi caved on nearly all GOP demands.)

*There was no insurrection. 😑
Imagine you're one of GOP lawmakers who has been pushing the lie that the election was stolen from Trump.

Dems call you out. Eh. "Politics."

But a respected, bipartisan, independent panel of people publicly connects the lies you spread to what fueled the insurrection? Bad news.
