If the GOP gets smart (big if!) they'll work those factors into a winning midterm and 2024 campaigns. They need to run a tight, coordinated offense. Don't just grouse about inflation and disappointing unemployment reports - talk about the Dems' deliberate War on the Middle Class.
Middle class life isn't just about consumerism, about having a car or a nice smartphone. It's about political and economic FREEDOM, and how they are inextricably entwined. It's about owning capital, owning your future, not depending on government handouts.
Republicans shouldn't just whine about how the media treats them unfairly. Media bias is an assault on YOU, on the voters, on freedom itself. False choices are not free choices. Fraud is coercion. The American people are being coerced with deliberate campaigns of falsehood.
The backlash against CRT flows from genuine, visceral revulsion as parents discover the racist, Marxist garbage their kids are being indoctrinated with. Adults are getting indoctrinated by big corporate and government employers. Link all those pushbacks into a movement.
Explain to the American people that the Left is trying to make them feel like criminals so they will submit to limitless punitive authoritarian government, a prison state with politicians as the wardens and deranged left-wingers walking the walls.
Tell the American people they have NOTHING to be ashamed of. There is no reason for innocent people to feel guilt and submit to authoritarian rule with their heads lowered. You are not criminals, oppressors, exploiters. You defeated Marxism before and you can do it again.
THAT'S how the GOP can blend those three factors into a winning campaign. The American people are facing a sustained assault on their DIGNITY. You're being told you don't deserve freedom. You can't be trusted to make big decisions. You have to suffer for historical sins.
You don't deserve the kind of prosperity you enjoyed before Dems took power - it was exploitative, oppressive, and rapacious. Your carbon footprint is too big. You must be stripped of your special privileges. You cannot be trusted with firearms. You need welfare to survive.
Republicans should push back against those assertions in an organized, comprehensive campaign, with both philosophy and practical issues, with a vision of fairness, freedom, and dignity. The stage has been set. Let's hope someone takes it. /end
