We've spent well over a year fighting about masks and social distancing and vaccines

But whatever "mistakes" were made by elected officials on those issues absolutely pale in comparison to the completely catastrophic error that was subsidizing gain of function research
Big Pharma gets endless hate

And yet it was our NIH that funded the research that killed half a million Americans

And the Big Pharma companies that created the vaccines that stopped the bleeding
It turns out that the profit incentive helps scientists stay focused on creating things that people need

And that the lack of a profit incentive leads scientists to build entire bureaucracies around research that could wipe out millions of people

It's just projection all the way down

SHE can't stand white people, so she assumes white people have the same feelings about her and are just hiding it which makes her even more angry/dismissive of white people and on and on it goes
A weird corollary of the problem of critical race theory is what it does to the minds of the people who believe it

Not just victimization - but rage inducement

It gives black people permission to hate white people, and endless reasons to as well
When she talks about white people needing to "do the work" she's projecting

Whatever "work" needed to be done was done culturally decades ago

When it's completely socially unacceptable to be racist...people stop being racist!

By this logic the North's treatment of the South after the Civil War was apartheid

The Palestinians and their allies invaded Israel, lost, invaded again 20 years later, lost, and invaded again 7 years later, and lost again

It's on them to sue for peace, until they do...
There was no Japanese peace process

There was no German peace process

Both countries unconditionally surrendered

And yet now, 75 years later, they are again world powers

72 years after the 1948 war, Palestine is still a mess

Maybe it's the "process" that's to blame
The Germans and Japanese accepted reality in 1945, they had no other choice

The Palestinians and their allies have simply refused to accept reality

What you would think of some Japanese reactionary demanding that Japan re-establish the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere?

Can you name the third-ranked Democrat in the House caucus off the top of your head?

Roy would have been better than Stefanik, sure

Either is a massive improvement over Liz Cheney, because the job is really just about putting your head down and helping people fundraise
Cheney needed to be moved because she was exploiting her position to dunk on Republicans 24/7

Stefanik seems like a team player to me (even as a moderate in a swing district) - that's enough

Facebook has set up its own court to interpret its own rules for its own censorship decisions and expects us to call that process "legitimate"

Nah

You should have the same right to speak on Facebook that you do in a public park
We can save Facebook a bunch of money and time with a simple solution

We pass legislation mandating that Facebook (and similar large social media platforms) be treated like public facilities for First Amendment purposes

And make them abide by American free speech law
This is so creepy

There's a substantial minority of the @OversightBoard that thinks Trump should have to "recognize [his] wrongdoing" and "commit to observing the rules in the future" to be reinstated
