A new AP-NORC poll finds many Americans are relaxing precautions taken during the COVID-19 pandemic and resuming everyday activities, even as some worry that coronavirus-related restrictions were hastily lifted. apne.ws/9Wj3C5x
The poll shows Americans who were regularly doing so before the pandemic say they're returning to bars or restaurants, traveling and attending live events like movies or sports, more so than they were last May.
Just 21% in the U.S. are very or extremely worried about a COVID-19 infection in their inner circle, and just 25% are highly concerned that the lifted restrictions will lead to additional COVID-19 infections in their community. apne.ws/AO2q508
Still, 34% of Americans think restrictions in their area have been lifted too quickly, while somewhat fewer -- 27% -- say they were not lifted quickly enough. About 4 in 10 rate the pace of reopening about right. apne.ws/3XFr2fU

Tulsa, Oklahoma, will soon begin marking the centennial of its storied and deadly race massacre. In 1921, a white mob carried out a scorched-earth campaign against a city business and residential district known as Black Wall Street. apne.ws/D0CZS43
Between May 31 and June 1, 1921, a mob of white Tulsans leveled over 35 city blocks, destroyed an estimated 191 Black businesses, and displaced roughly 10,000 Black residents from the neighborhood where they’d lived, learned, played, worked and prospered. apne.ws/JS9oKHG
The Tulsa Race Massacre is just one of the starkest examples of how Black wealth has been sapped by racism and racist violence. It forced generations to start from scratch while shouldering the burdens of being Black in America, @aaronlmorrison reports. apne.ws/T6BOuXB
