THREAD: Puerto Rico representative @lisieburgospr held up this picture in the capitol, Friday, using it to defame gay people and what she says is the “gender ideology” agenda she objects to.
The look of her colleague, @denismarquezpip, says it all.
He wrote to me:

“...I hadn't anticipated the opportunity given to me by the people of Puerto Rico in this election, it's an honor and I'll work arduously to achieve the objective...” of statehood.
Rossello spoke with @Rafael_Bernal_:
“I know that I made mistakes in the past, but I am a person who's committed to causes: equality, equality for women and discriminated groups, action against climate change is close to my heart," said Rosselló.
Today, the fmr governor was also pictured standing alongside other individuals who were recently elected as shadow congressmen & women to advocate for statehood. Tomorrow at 1pm ET, @NRDems will hold a 2nd status hearing on Puerto Rico.

BREAKING: Florida’s education commissioner just released a letter, dated today, that he sent to S. Florida principal Melissa Carter saying he finds probable cause justify sanctions against her educators certificate after she paddled/beat a 6yo student at school in Hendry County.
Florida’s education commissioner finds probable cause for administrative sanctions, & Florida’s Dept of children & families says the principal was inappropriate & shouldn’t be around vulnerable children again but the local prosecutor concluded: the principal did not break the law
Note how the document to Melissa Carter was signed: “please govern yourself accordingly,”
THREAD: Florida’s Dept of Children & Families has ruled: principal Melissa Carter, who paddled a 6yo student, was “inappropriate” & caused “significant injury to the child” & should have “no contact with young & vulnerable children in an official capacity”
The investigation by the Department of Children and Families was closed on April 27 but the findings were released today by the attorney for the girl’s family who says he obtained the documents through a public records request.
The report quotes the school district superintendent as saying: Melissa Carter violated a school board policy by spanking the child, and that she was suspended with pay while the school district investigated. But tonight the district is planning
Hendry County, FL. principal Melissa Carter - who repeatedly hit a child with a paddle as her aide held the 6yo girl down - is being recommended by the school board for reappointment. The local prosecutor determined that Carter did not break the law.
This update was first reported today by @winknews. The child that Carter repeatedly hit with a paddle was accused of scratching a computer screen. The child’s mother tried to press charges against the principal but the local prosecutor rejected it.
When I asked the local prosecutors office if it would’ve been illegal for the principal to hit a dog like that, the prosecutors office refused to answer the question. The state prosecutor is Amira Fox.
