Holy crap. Sorry, Sam Bennett but...CAV TO THE TOUR! It happened.
Patrick Lefevere 3 days ago. The Tour de France got even more interesting.

Sam Bennett didn't fully recover from his knee injury in time for the Tour. I don't think him leaving the team at the end of the year played a role here but yes maybe the extra pressure (Cav flying, Sam doubting himself played a role). Who knows. #TDF2021
Patrick Lefevere doubts Sam Bennett's explanation: "I will not let this pass by. I can not prove that he does not have knee pain, but I am starting to think more and more that it is more fear of failure than just pain."

The biggest cycling race on Earth starts this Saturday and there are so many stories to be written. Pog vs Rog, The Empire, Alaphilippe making France dream again, the return of the Cav, MVDP, Bahrain 🔥... I'm pretty hyped. But first of all, let's meet the teams. Allez! #TDF2021
Arkea-Samsic. Bretagne! They're bringing a (miniature) Trident with Bouhanni, Quintana (the only Colombian so it likely means no GC hopes) and Barguil. Nacer for the sprints, Nairo and Wawa for a mountain stage win. I hope they're going for the KOM jersey too. #TDF2021
B&B Hotels p/b KTM. Bretagne! The only fully French team at this TDF have Bryan Coquard for the bunch sprints and not much else. 😬 The maximum they can do is a stage top 3 for Le Coq and to wear maillot a pois early in the race. Allez les 3 Cyrils! #TDF2021

I didn't believe it can happen this year but I'm glad it does: the 2020 Tour de France starts this Saturday! So I guess it's time to check the teams we'll see pedalling through France for the next 3 weeks. Incredible level alert! 🚨 #TDF2020
Total Direct Energie. Their best hope for a stage victory is the only non-French rider in the team, Niccolo Bonifazio. 😬 It sounds very unlikely to happen but Niccolo finished 3rd last year on Champs-Élysées and did some great sprints this year... #TDF2020
B&B Hotels-Vital Concept. They finally made it, this is their Tour de France debut! The team is built of course, around Bryan Coquard and Le Coq showed some great legs at the French Nats. He will be up there in the sprints but to win...difficult. (via @ProCyclingStats ) #tdf2020

So quite a big race starts on Saturday in Bruxelles, I've heard...🤔 More open than in recent years, they say. Time to check the teams of the 2019 Tour de France, then! #TDF
Team Arkea Samsic. There was nothing much to be happy about this season until WaWa won the Tricolore this weekend. Greipel is past his best so Barguil is their only hope for a stage win. Some extra pressure being the French Champion. Many chances so he should do it. 👍 #TDF
Cofidis. The big news is that Bouhanni is not here but definitely not a surprise. So Laporte is their sprinter, Edet for some crazy breakaways but their big guy is definitely Jesus Herrada this month, flyiiing. 🚀 Wow, Cofidis with actually a solid team! #TDF
