Raisi quote: "We will pursue interaction with the whole world and all the world states under broad and balanced interaction in foreign policy. We will not allow negotiations for negotiations and will not allow negotiations to turn into talks of attrition,
but every meeting should be accompanied by results. We will continue contacts if they yield results for the people in line with lifting restrictions..”
Taken together with Raisi’s remarks on the whole eschewing any traces of anti-US rhetoric, above is a highly significant affirmation that Raisi’s focus is on economy and restoring the social base of the regime.
Raisi will welcome business links & western investment. Biden should allow Boeing to pioneer, resuming talks on proposed massive deal.

Very smart move by Imran Khan to mark distance from likely Taliban takeover & to prevail upon Biden to pressure Ghani to make way for interim govt when they meet up on Friday.
Imran Khan hopes to forestall any blame from US for suffering such humiliating defeat in Afghanistan. But how could Pakistan possibly wash its hands off and walk away at this point putting all blame on Americans?
