Provisionally, 10,204 deaths were registered in England and Wales in the week ending 11 June 2021 (Week 23).

This was

▪ 2,426 higher than Week 22
▪️ 227 higher than the five-year average for Week 23.

0.8% of the deaths registered in Week 23 mentioned #COVID19 on the death certificate (84 out of 10,204 deaths).

96,939 deaths involving #COVID19 to date (2020 and up to Week 23 2021) have occurred in hospitals.

The remainder mainly occurred in
