Arizona does not have statewide adoption of curriculum. This is because statewide curriculum adoption is a recipe for the total politicization of everything children learn in school. By everyone. 2/
Throughout the nation, we have recently been treated to a purposeful avalanche of bad information about "indoctrination" and "re-writing history" by people who can't actually describe in detail what they are objecting to. 3/
Their purpose, and it's working, is to create fear and stoke discontent among communities. But despite all that, the pace of change at the school board level is SLOW. It's slow on purpose. Agonizingly so sometimes. 4/
That provides a buffer that encourages equilibrium. Trust me when I say, you do not want gubernatorial appointees of either party writing curriculum for schools. The same satisfaction you get from owning the libs today 5/
Will absolutely come back to haunt you the next time there's a Democratic governor. It's happened before, and it can happen again. This is a war that is absolutely not worth starting. end/
