A look inside the process of #RainbowConnection, as seen in the #ReleaseMe2 liner notes, written by Barbra’s longtime A&R Jay Landers:
"When songwriters Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher were asked by Jim Henson to write songs for the 1979 motion picture, The Muppet Movie, they-
-took inspiration from the animated Disney classic, Pinocchio. Williams recalled being profoundly touched by Jiminy Cricket’s warmhearted performance of “When You Wish Upon A Star” and wanted to write a song that evoked a similar feeling. -
That same year, Barbra was recording her Wet album, a collection of songs with water themes – visiting Niagara Falls, splish-splashing in the tub, kissing in the rain, and shedding no more tears. “Rainbow Connection” would have been a natural fit, except the production and-
-arrangement weren’t coming together as planned.
When considering the unfinished “Rainbow Connection” for this album, I pointed out to Barbra that she’d sung with everyone from from Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra to Neil Diamond and Celine Dion, but there was one superstar she-
had yet to work with – that dashing and debonair song stylist, Kermit the Frog.
One can’t help but speculate that Muppet creator Jim Henson would have been proud of his young protégé…even if the quintessential diva Miss Piggy might have been a tad jealous!"

5 more reasons to vote against Trump.
1. With Steve Bannon’s arrest, there have been seven of Trump’s close associates who have been arrested or indicted since he took office.
Other Trump collaborators charged with crimes include Paul Manafort, Rick Gates, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Michael Cohen and George Papadopoulos.
2. Nearly 70 women have come forward claiming Trump assaulted, groped or behaved in a sexually inappropriate way toward them. The latest has her story corroborated by friends whom she told at the time.
4 more reasons to vote against Trump. 1. Trump used nepotism and disregards security clearances in order to usher his daughter/son-in-law into important leadership positions for which they are unqualified. His sons continue trading on their name to do business around the globe.
2. Trump was fined $2 million and admitted to misusing his foundation funds for personal interests.
3. Trump was ordered to pay $25 million to the students he defrauded for his sham university.
1. Trump hid in his bunker then had peaceful protestors attacked with tear gas outside the White House so he could have a photo op in front of a church.
2. Trump has exacerbated race relations, maligning Black Lives Matter protestors and dismissing calls for justice, while comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln.
3. Trump has continued to promote dangerous conspiracy theories in an effort to delegitimize the U.S. election. As a redux to his racist birther conspiracy against President Obama, he has launched new racist attacks against Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris.
7 Foreign policy reasons to reject Trump in this election.
1. Trump praises dictators like Putin and Erdogan, devaluing and insulting our allies, and undermining NATO.
2. Our Kurdish allies fought ISIS for us in Syria (losing 11,000 men to our 7 men). Then Trump abandoned them to help Russia and Turkey by greenlighting Erdogan’s invasion, which left at least 200 dead and 170,000 displaced from their homes.
3. Trump has held several meetings with Putin (not to mention umpteen phone calls) and gone to great lengths to conceal the details, including confiscating the translator’s notes and providing no read-out to U.S. officials. Isn’t this a violation of the Presidential Records Act?
1. Trump has called both COVID19 and climate change “a hoax” -- which science has proved it certainly is not!
2. Trump used an unapproved, experimental drug derived from fetal tissue, lifesaving research that might have saved his life. His Administration is against that research and is trying to outlaw it now with the forced confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
3. Trump has a real problem with women and has no respect for them. He shows that time again by calling them names if they don’t agree with him or if they ask a question he does not like. He cannot deal with women who have opinions. Too bad since we are 51% of the electorate!
