A list of Britney’s constitutional rights that were violated: {thread}

First amendment:
- freedom to associate
- freedom of speech

Second amendment: (I’m going to assume she’s not allowed to own firearms, but I actually don’t know).

Fourth amendment:
- right to privacy
- against illegal search and seizure (of her person and property)

Fifth amendment:
- right to due process including notice and the right to be heard before the state imposes incarceration (which probate conservatorships certainly are)

Sixth amendment:
- right to an attorney of one’s own choosing
- right to confer with counsel freely
- right to adequate counsel who exercises reasonable judgment for the industry

Seventh amendment:
- right to a trial by a jury of your peers before the state takes away your civil rights and liberties indefinitely.

Eighth amendment (I admit this one is a little reachy since it’s not a criminal case lol)
- right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment (the state-sanctioned lithium as a punishment for not doing a dance move comes to mind)

13th amendment
- Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

14th amendment:
- right to equal treatment under the laws of the United States despite gender, national origin, race, age, religion or disability. (She was alleged to have dementia so the laws ceased to fully protect her civil rights and liberties)

15th amendment: (not sure on this one)
- right to vote: but I think she technically retained that right.
