This week 4 Catholic churches in Canada have been burned to the ground, & a 5th vandalized. Wrong has been done in the name of every religion - Catholicism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc. But imagine the #cdnpoli reaction if it had been 4 mosques, 4 synagogues, or 4 temples.(1/3)
The false narrative that some in #cdnpoli push, intentionally ignoring ongoing reconciliation efforts and trying to blame all Catholics or the entire Catholic Church for the actions of a few, does nothing to help reconciliation and risks contributing to further violence.(2/3)
Blaming a group for the sins of individuals is odious and hateful. All political leaders should speak out clearly against these attacks, as they would in any other case. #cdnpoli (3/3)
