HOW THE LNP ARE CONQUERING AUSTRALIA INSTEAD OF COVID

Yes. Another thread from a noisy Victorian.

/ When Scott Morrison was recently quizzed on his failures with Hotel Quarantine, he was met with laughter and derision for suggesting Labor was politicising the pandemic.
/ Ironically, during the early stages of the pandemic Labor were constantly labelled as agreeable and weak in opposition. They often still are. However, we must respect that our health depended on Labor cooperating with the coalition. For the most part, Labor certainly did this.
/ The best example of a politician playing politics during the pandemic, is the angry little Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg.
/ At a time when Labor called on the LNP to show unity & support for Victorians enduring lockdown & successfully flattening the curve - a world wide rarity, he chose that moment to angrily call on us to judge Victoria's success not against the world, but against other states.
/ This calculated move from Josh Frydenberg can be seen as a defining moment in establishing a state vs state mentality, which in turn has developed into a false, scientifically unproven, sense of confidence amongst citizens of NSW. #FrydenbergLockdown?
/ All MSM has played up to this. The glamourising of Gladys Berejiklian, to the point where she has been classified by the Financial Review as “The Woman Who Saved Australia”, is arguably the source of much complacency in NSW. (And seriously, who cares about her love life?)
/ Complacency is the main source of all outbreaks worldwide. The virus thrives in places where the community think they've got Covid19 "sorted". This includes Melbourne, at the beginning of our 'second wave'. (Hell, I even got a bit complacent before the recent outbreak).
/ Whilst NewsCorp invites Alan Jones to convince his audience that Covid19 is in fact, “Not a pandemic”, we hear longtime Nine News Host, Peter Hitchener, in Nine’s vaccine commercial, claim that vaccines will “End lockdowns for good”. (Will they Peter? Present your modelling!)
/ In April, Australia’s most trustworthy news service had Leigh Sales claiming stating the virus was “now hopefully under control”. At this time, the vax rollout was already proving unbearably slow, HQ was having leaks nationwide and the Delta variant was reeking havoc on India.
/ It’s alarming the ABC has proven at times to be untrustworthy in regard to reporting on Covid19. Leigh Sales has been called out a number of times by viewers for unscientifically simplifying outbreak comparisons in order to favour NSW’s moderate approach. (ABCs Craig Kelly?)
/ Early on in the pandemic, the World Health Organisation warned of an infodemic working in parallel with the pandemic. The more individuals are misinformed by politicians and news media, the longer the pandemic would be. (Can’t wait to find out where Batman’s secret lab is).
/ Just as Anthony Fauci has been attacked by right wing commentators in the US, the perverse attacks on Victoria's Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton, continue here in similar unwarranted fashion. It's dangerous. (For all of us, but mostly for Brett).
/ As Republican Senator, Marjorie Taylor Greene, leads a campaign to have Fauci fired, our own version of the conspiracy theorist, Victorian Liberal MP, Georgie Crozier, continues to cast suspicion on Sutton & undermine the health response. (Special mention: Louise Staley).
/ Praise has rightly gone the way of the NSW Chief Health Officer, Kerry Chant. However, she is currently having her words twisted by those trying to honour the “Gold Standard” label for NSW’s health response to Covid19. (Hope Brett can offer some beastly advice here).
/ Whilst noting that a week into reporting cases of the Delta Strain, a three day lockdown would not be appropriate, Chant has been misinterpreted by many as suggesting lockdowns don’t work at all. (sEE bREtt LockdOWnS dOnT wOrK!)
/ Of course, the next few days would see Chant advise a two week lockdown for greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast & Wollongong in order to limit the spread of an out of control virus. This action is supported by many experts outside the government, including the AMA.
/ NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, has spent a great deal of time talking up NSW’s success in avoiding outbreaks, often at the expense of other states. Subsequently, supporters of her moderate approach have claimed that NSW’s success is based on a stronger public health system.
/ As the Bondi cluster grew, many lockdown weary Victorians looked on in amazement as Sydneysiders proudly made comments such as, "NSW collectively shrugs its shoulders and carries on with their day". (I mean, we’re mutually blocked and I still see his tweets guys!)
/ As numbers grew, Vic’s border closures were met with responses like, "I cannot express my rage. It's been more than a fucking year and you still don't trust your public health system? That's on you fuckers." This attitude is traceable back to Berejiklian (with less swears).
/ "We have in NSW taken our citizens on a particular journey and its very different to the journey other states have taken their citizens through. They've opted for the harsher, blunter instruments", she said, 2 weeks before enacting a 2 week lockdown on greater Sydney. (Ouch).
/ Gladys Berejiklian’s luck has run out. No longer can she pretend that NSW’s claims of being “Gold Standard” will protect her citizens from lockdowns. The virus is currently benefiting from a flawed divide & conquer campaign. Flawed ‘cos, like Daryl, COVID won’t behave.
/ After their endless attack on Victorians mental health, constantly labelling Victorians as a “cult” suffering from “Stockholm Syndrome”, Sky News regulars are scrambling to put an anti Victorian spin on this. (Tell us again why you moved to Sydney Sophie).
/ A recent opinion piece by Jon Faine articulating how NewsCorp's attack on Victorians has created mixed feelings amongst it's citizens towards our northern neighbours, has already been twisted by NewsCorp to be an "attack on NSW", continuing their divide and conquer campaign.
/ NSW hopefully won’t endure the effects of lockdown for too long, some of which include the aforementioned harassment by our “news” media. Perhaps our ABC have started to realise reporting on the pandemic should never have been considered, “business as usual”. (#defendtheabc).
/ Leigh Sales is on holiday! The ABC finally interviewed a business owner adversely effected by the lockdown who laid blame squarley on the LNP's failures, rather than MSM's seemingly endless parade of gym owners claiming to be "hygiene experts". (All friends of Hughesy).
/ NSW may well be in a position though, to understand what it’s like to have a nation treat you like an outcast when you’re trapped through no fault of your own. Tough for Vic to be the bigger person but try and stop the cycle of abuse perpetrated by news media and politicians.
/ It IS a divide and conquer campaign. Most of us are familiar with this term. We should remember that as we criticise Gladys for her lack of action, we are also playing into the hands of an LNP election strategy.
/ This is especially hard for Victorians, particularly those who understand our main enemy during a pandemic is the disease. Our suffering has been dramatised and exploited by MSM whilst being politicised by the LNP. State vs state allows Scott Morrison to fly under the radar.
/ Morrison & Frydenberg have been conquering, by mislabeling NSW as “Gold Standard”, dividing them from the rest of Oz. As they’ve already spent a plenty time bragging about Australia’s prosperity post Covid, it must be really tough for the LNP to admit the pandemic isn’t over.
/ Dan Andrews realised early, playing politics would extend the pandemic. He let down his guard labelling Frydenberg “Not a leader, just a Liberal”, perhaps playing into the LNP's Divide & Conquer Campaign - the modus operandi of the LNP for the last 100 years. (Seems like it).
/ These days they not only have Murdoch. Josh’s old LNP treasurer mate, Peter Costello, is a chairman of Nine. The Age & SMH are now riddled with fluff pieces on the LNP, disguised as journalism. NewsCorp’s Andrew Bolt, gaslights us all, when he labels The Age "Left Wing".
/ As our country slowly, but surely, loses it's standing as "The Country that Beat Covid", we must find a way to end this divide and conquer campaign by the LNP. Not easy, when it’s enabled by an increasingly unethical media landscape. (And ABC budget cuts - speak up guys).
/ Solidarity between NSW & Vic can be restored when we start calling out the MSM for their part in our nation's mental health crisis. Most importantly, we must be united in ending the coalition’s exploitation of our suffering & vote OUT this useless Liberal National Party.
/ Coffee?
