A preliminary study in Great Britain looked at a third booster dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and determined that it boosted the immune response against COVID-19.
I spoke with Dr. Judy Martin, who's the lead investigator for Pitt on this. Essentially, the study will look at what the third dose should be depending on what vaccine was taken, the safety of the third dose, it's side effects and it's immune response.
They're looking for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people for the study. All this to look at blood samples after the first, second and third dose and determine the immune response at various phases.
