Dr. Adalja says the Pfizer & Moderna vaccines are showing to be highly effective.
Preliminarily, he says J&J is also showing that it's effective at preventing the Delta variant.
"The vaccines, if you’re fully vaccinated, I think you’re fine from the Delta Variant perspective."

Adalja says, to put it bluntly, the U.S. is more vaccinated than other parts of the world.

The latest data from there from 'Our World In Data', which Google uses, indicates
Australia's fully vaccinated rate: 5.8%.
United States: 47%
Allegheny County (according to state dashboard): 65%

Long story short: The preliminary evidence suggests the vaccines are effective, and the higher the vaccination rate is in a given place, the better off that population is.
Health Dept. Director Dr. Debra Bogen independently said as much in her news conference that just wrapped.

Bogen said there were at least 2 confirmed cases of the delta variant in Allegheny County.
HOWEVER, the fully vaccinated rate is about 65%, 80% have received at least one dose, and there has been no meaningful spike in the daily case rate or overall hospitalization rate.

Just to update this.
When we talked to Dr. Adalja Wednesday, he indicated preliminarily that J&J was also showing effectiveness against the Delta variant.
Late yesterday, J&J confirmed their shot is performing well against the variant.
