Thread: Today, the Tigray Defense Forces (TDF) have captured back a number of cities, including Mekelle, the capital city of #Tigray. The elected Government of Tigray has also now been re-instated.
We remain optimistic about a quicker end to this genocidal war, yet also extremely worried about the people of Tigray who continue to be targets after heavy losses by invading forces.
Although the Ethiopian National Defense Forces have retreated back to Addis Ababa, Eritrean and Amhara forces remain in #Tigray and continue to commit human rights violations.
Tonight, in collaboration with Tigrayan orgs, we’ll be launching a campaign that:
- amplifies the atrocities
- calls on aid agencies to more immediately work with the re-instated Govt of Tigray to support civilians across all of Tigray
- reiterates our calls to world leaders

Advocacy continues to be important amidst the 900K+ Tigrayans in famine, the continued massacring of civilians, weaponized rape against women and girls, and many more atrocities. Let's keep making our voice heard. ✊🏾
