A) Pelosi to Dems: One year into the devastation of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln sent a message to Congress, imploring Members to join as one to save the union.
B) Pelosi: “Fellow citizens, we cannot escape history,” Lincoln said. “We of this Congress and this administration will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us.”
C) Pelosi: Today, we have such a responsibility. And we too cannot escape history. We have the duty, to the Constitution and the Country, to find the truth of the January 6th Insurrection and to ensure that such an assault on our Democracy cannot happen again.
D) Pelosi: It is clear that January 6th was not simply an attack on a building, but an attack on our very Democracy.

It is imperative that we seek the truth of what happened.
E) Pelosi: The House will be establishing a Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. It will investigate and report upon the facts and causes of the attack.

1) Fox has learned that the Capitol fence, encircling the immediate perimeter of the U.S. Capitol will come down starting July 8.
2) Officials installed a two layers of fencing blocking off the Capitol shortly after the January 6 riot. Officials removed the larger perimeter of fencing in the spring. But the inner fence remained..
3) That said, Fox is told there are questions as to whether the U.S. Capitol Police have the resources to protect the Capitol. Many officers have left or remain injured. Morale remains very low after the riot.

A) GOP GA Rep Greene: For the last 6 years, Democrats have called Republicans: Nazis, Fascists, White Supremacists, and Enemies of the State. It’s absurd Democrats accuse me of creating an environment of harassment for speaking at a Trump rally and defining them as who they are:
B) Greene:
Communists.

The truth is...

Cori Bush harassed me and it’s on video, then lied to get a bigger office.

Marie Newperson harassed me with a taunting video about her adult son.

The Democrat delegate from Guam harassed me by using the Nat'l Guard a
C) Greene: I receive constant harassment in public caused by the Democrat lies promoted by the media.

Democrats singled me out and kicked me off committees for doing nothing wrong, and the death threats haven’t stopped since.

A) McConnell: The President has appropriately delinked a potential bipartisan infrastructure bill from the massive, unrelated tax-and-spend plans that Democrats want to pursue on a partisan basis.
B) McConnell: Now I am calling on President Biden to engage Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi and make sure they follow his lead.
C) McConnell: Unless..Schumer..&..Pelosi walk-back their threats that they will refuse to send the president a bipartisan infrastructure bill unless they also separately pass trillions of dollars..then President Biden’s walk-back of his veto threat would be a hollow gesture.

1) There is a lot to fillet from today’s events on the bipartisan infrastructure plan.

First this is very fragile. There is no bill next. There is a broad set of principles and pay-fors. We probably won’t start to see formal legislative text until early July if not later.
2) This is a general framework.

But the sides are trying to make this work.

President Biden made a point of making a rare appearance in the White House driveway today with the coalition of bipartisan senators. He wanted to show that he was all-in with their deal
3) This was not a soundbite. This was a “sight byte.” A sight byte is more powerful. And Mr. Biden was sending a message to Democrats and Republicans by visually showing he supported this plan.

A) Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was just on the floor speaking about the bipartisan infrastructure package.

“It was an encouraging sign of progress,” McConnell said.

But then McConnell lowered the boom.
B) McConnell says House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) “literally pulled out the rug” from the bipartisan coalition by insisting on advancing the bipartisan bill and the broad, expensive Democratic bill.
C) McConnell says “optimism” about the plan “was short-lived.”

McConnell then said President Biden had a “tale of two press conferences.” He argued that the President said two different things in a matter of hours about passing the bills.

1) Progressive Caucus: Hse progressives have been adamant that the WH & Congressional leadership cannot abandon the deep needs in..communities on climate..housing,..making billionaires and large corporations finally pay their fair share, for the sake of a bipartisan compromise.
2) Progressive Caucus: A recent poll of our 95-member Caucus showed overwhelming support for the House not passing a bipartisan infrastructure bill unless a larger reconciliation package containing our progressive priorities moved simultaneously.
3) Progressive Caucus: The stakes are too high in this moment, and progressives won’t let our chance to meet the needs of working families pass without a fight.
