What we have learned is that each state finds its own path on the incorporation journey and there are pros and cons to every approach, which must take account of multiple factors. While the picture is one of diversity, political will is key. 4/7
Regardless of which approach is taken, indicators of success include recognising children as rights holders, ensuring rights are justiciable and making children’s rights more visible in public decision-making. 5/7
We have learned that there is real potential to advance #children’s rights by adopting national measures that give legal protection to children’s rights. Incorporation is not a panacea however and implementation of children’s rights remains a work in progress everywhere.6/7
