In April '20, @iamalphalee's startup @PostEra_AI launched a crowdsourced effort to discover drugs that are effective in treating covid-19.

Listen to the behind-the-scenes take on how it was done:

This was the first of its kind effort that combined research efforts from several groups across the world to design a drug that treats covid-19, is free from patents and can be made cheaply and easily anywhere in the world.
I learned a lot about how drugs are discovered and how anyone can help discover new covid-19 drugs.

Most mainstream physicists today believe that our universe is fundamentally quantum and since quantum objects exist in super-position of properties, our universe also exists in super-position of possibilities.

But we percieve definite outcomes, not possibilities.
This so called "wave collapse" into definite outcomes is an illusion.

Possibilities do not collapse into outcomes. Rather, we the observers get entangled with those possibilities

What I find interesting and baffling is that - from a consciousness perspective - we never directly experience superposition of possibilities.

There seem to be no logical barrier towards that, but evolution programmed us to only be conscious of and act on definitive outcomes.

What's the most common mental illness after depression and bipolar disorder?

It's probably schizophrenia. There's no treatment for it but evidence suggests that psychedelic drugs like psilocybin may cure it.

This was new to me:

How short farm animal’s lives are as compared to their natural life expectancy. Image
Chicken.

Make chickens are killed on day 1 as they’re not egg laying.

Broilers (for meat) live only 40 days. Image
Cattle.

Even what appears to be harmless (milk) tends to reduce lifespan of the cattle to 1/4th of natural life span.

This is because they’re kept in constant pregnancy for lactation and stress of constant milking and being away from their calf takes its toll. Image
