"Commot for Road Missile"

After nearly four years of R&D the Nigerian army, with technical expertise from NASRDA willl soon unveil a prototype of its "commot for road" guided missile/rocket.

In 2018, the Nigerian military leveraged on an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NASRDA to fast track collaborative measures to develop rocketry and missiles propulsion system.

The NAF on its part lamented the fact that some fighter choppers in the inventory of the NAF have to fly as close as 1.5 kilometers to target before firing, saying this is dangerous for the pilot hence the need to develop standoff (beyond visual range) capabilities

that will allow aircrafts launch their missiles from a distance of at least 3 kilometers from targets.

NASRDA's Director of Engineering Dr Femi Agboola, said the agency has the capacity to improve the missile propulsion needs of the military, and even beyond what was requested.

Well, guess we'll have to wait and see. Propelling a missile to great distances, or even to stratospheric height on a ballistic trajectory is one thing. Guiding it to its target presents a unique set of challenges. It's incredibly difficult to master and perfect.

Also to be unveiled is the upgraded "AMEBO II" UAV used primarily for training.
