How we built a $48,000 Annual Recurring Revenue membership and failed 3 months in

3 Things I’d Do Different if we were to launch a new membership offer

[Hidden Marketing lessons ⬇️]
If you’re considering starting or running a membership offer as a marketer, coach or course creator,

You’d find this really helpful, and this is what I wish we did when we launched a membership offer earlier in the year

Let’s get into it.
You might have heard this before,
Having a recurring revenue from your membership is passive income, and that’s true. You create it once and get paid for life

But, that’s only if you put these 3 things into place

Why?
If you don’t,
You’d end up with more churn rate than you can handle, and the goal is to have as many members stay through as possible

So here are 3 things we’d do different when launching a membership offer for ourselves or clients
And hopefully, you find some value in it.
💫Get Ultra Specific on the promise of your offer

A lot of course creators or coaches get this wrong right from the start. Here’s why

You often believe the more promises you make, the higher the number of people you’d attract
But there’s nothing farther from the truth than that, and that was a huge mistake we made out of oversight

The harsh truth is this, the more specific you are about your offer promise,

The bigger your promise packs a punch and breaks through the level of market skepticism
So in a world where everyone is trying to get as much clients through the door, be sure you don’t attract rodents into your farmyard

Which leads us to the next one
✨Set expectations:

One of the biggest reason our membership hit the rocks way too early even though we had a great start,

Is because we didn’t get clear on what people should expect moving forward on our ends and also their required commitments.
So it was no surprise when our founding members got pissed off because they had different expectations about what we were to deliver

Which is why I’d advise you to focus on one thing and make sure you hammer it home clearly to your audience before launching your membership
This will protect you and them from being heartbroken should things take a different turn

…..and finally,
💸Have a Curriculum

Running a membership can be pretty stressful if you don’t have a planned curriculum for members of your community
...and if you just think of winging it according to how you feel every time, you’d be stuck in a loophole that increases your churn rate unbearably
So how do you go about this?

Create or curate for your members
What do i mean?

You can either create your content for the membership based on exactly what they ask for and your level of expertise,
Or you can bring in carefully curated experts who come in at different times to teach, motivate and engage your audience.

& everyone ends up happy in the end which makes your stick rate increase drastically while making people excited to keep paying you for your offer
P.S in the end, it goes deeper than this,
but these are the three main things I wish we really did well,

that would have doubled or tripled the success of our membership.

I hope you found this insightful and implement lessons from our mistakes
Share with anyone who would love this
Cheers

I’m launching a membership next year

We’d teach you how to close sales for HIGH TICKET COURSES

Course price range between $2500-$5000

You get 10% of every sale you close. We’d also help you get your first 5 clients

So imagine selling 5 courses/day at $2500 = $250x5 ($1250)
If you’re very good and close between 5-10 of every 100 calls

That’s $2500/day

Close just 30 sales a month and you make $7500 a month

The criteria will be
👉🏽You can speak good English
👉🏽Have high speed internet connections
👉🏽Good Laptops & webcam
👉🏽Coachable
This is literally easy money for you

We’re building our own in-house team of sales closers to work with our clients

Most of our offers range between $2500-$15,000

So you can easily have an $100K+/year by just getting on calls daily & selling via what we teach you

My friend bought a car for $118,000 here in Dubai

It rents for $400 everyday, but you have to rent for two days minimum

So on average he’s making $800 per person

Made his money back within a year, now the car is free & he has an asset

It’s responsible for 4 extra cars now
There’s so many ways to get to the bag

I’ve discovered it’s all about distribution and having something many people want

He has two Porsche, one McLaren and a Corvette

On track to get a Ferrari & a Rolls Royce, renting them out to Expats & marketers
Putting yourself in this kinda circle gives you inspiration on how to create leverage for yourself

Imagine putting your cars for rent, then taking that cashflow to secure properties

Listing the house on AirBnB then using the cars as an upsell for the folks who get your place

Let’s talk about generating 24/7 sales for your courses

It all boils down to 3 things

Offer + Traffic + Conversion = Sales

I call it the OTC triangle

Now let’s dive deeper into this
These three are the stands for the success of your course

👉🏽OFFER

Your offer goes beyond just the price at which you sell

it includes creating a safe space that reduces risk involved & making a promise that is unique & appealing to the buyer
Now let’s talk about the next thing which is

👉🏽TRAFFIC

this is the amount of eyes you get before your offer as much as you can

now this is a very important part of hitting your sales goals

yet this is what most course creators pay less attention to

I’d explain in a bit

Wealth is more mental than physical

the more money I make, the more I understand this deeply

going from a state of lack to a state of abundance & prosperity is cool

until you discover you operate from a place of fear when it comes to money matters

this is rarely talked about
…but it’s a HUGE mental battle for anyone to escape the cycle of LACK without proper mental conditioning

which is why you’d find yourself in a state of one good month & subsequent bad months financially

and until you fix this, no amount of skill can help you

Heck, here’s more
to make money, you need skills

to keep money, you need a great character trait

to grow money, you need a solid belief system

the only reason people make money & end up losing it all is because

they lack 2 out of 3 that’s required to build wealth. It’s crazy how this impacts U

Ended Q1 2021 with $2.18M

Here’s some of my guiding principles that help me stay aligned

Lengthy Thread ↓
quick background

I graduated with a 2/2 from the University of Ibadan & by society’s construct

I’d prolly be getting paid peanuts at a secondary school or so back in Nigeria

but I wasn’t cut out for that, I took the online space serious since I was 15 (best decision ever)
Definitely not the easiest thing

matter of fact, I’ve been like the rebel in the family lol

parents are academics & all that but I had a taste of money online awaiting admission & never looked back

Here’s some things I’ve learned over time 👇🏽
