#AFG 14 districts have fallen in Badakhshan in less than 48 hours. Baharaak district fell to the Taliban this morning. Badakhshan in North- eastern Afghanistan is a major ANDSF providing province.
Frontline is now at the gates of the city of Faizabad. The airport is under major threat. Badakhshan shares a border with Tajikistan and China. Province has one of the most mountainous terrains.
Baharaak district in Badakshan fell to Taliban this morning without much of a fight or resistance.

In the neighboring Takhar province, 15 out of 16 districts fell to the Taliban - much without a fight, the provincial capital of Takhar, Taloqan is surrounded on 4 sides.
Warsaaj district in Takhar fell to the Taliban. All 16 districts in Takhar in control of Taliban. The provincial capital of Taloqan is the only place left and is surrounded on 4 sides.
According to CT officers, “ Hussian Juanday who hails from Chayab district , is a shareholder in the gold mine in Chayab district. As a formidable Taliban CDR, he helped TB capture Rustaq, Chayab, Kisham and Kalafgan districts.”

20 districts have fallen over the course of last 72 hours in Badakhshan alone- much of these districts fell to the Taliban without resistance or fight.
