Why did we start calling executive branch officers tasked with leading multi-agency responses to discrete problems “czars”?
It’s not intuitive that a drug czar, for instance, is committed to stopping rather than hastening the spread of drug use
It’s clearly meant to refer to unaccountable power — ironically but then not
Like how about a “governance czar”
