I can imagine that there are some countries where the national flag emphasizes the history and interest of one group while excluding other citizens and that this could be a problem to some degree.

A flag with a Cross, representing Christianity, could be seen by non-Christian citizens as being exclusionary, for example.

The USA is made up of people who came from all over the world. The Flag represents, perhaps not perfection, but at least an attempt through US history, to be a positive force.
