"Miracle" reunion after 62 years: At the age of 4, Jin Myung-sook (now 66) lost her way at market, got separated from family. She was reunited yesterday thanks to Korean police's genetic analysis system. Holding back her tears, she hugged her eldest brother, Jeong Hyung-gon (76).
In the summer of 1959, Myung-sook, who was 4 years old at the time, lost her way near Baedari Market in Incheon while following her younger brother on way to meet their father. She didn't know her address or last name, just that she was called "Myung-sook."
In the end, her name was changed to "Jin Myung-sook" after the priest's family name at a nursery, and she was eventually adopted by a nun in South Chungcheong Province. After the age of 40, she decided to try find her family despite having no memory of them and different surname.
She went on TV to try find her family but nothing came up. She registered her genes in 2019 on a police genetic database. The police's Missing Family Support Centre analysed her genes and found a man Jeong Hyung-sik (68) to be a close match through interview and genetic analysis.
Hyung-sik moved to Canada, but before going, registered his genes on the system in the hope of finding his long lost sister Myung-sook. A match came up recently, and through further tests and confirmations, the family relation was confirmed.
She met eldest brother Hyung-gon yesterday in Seoul, and connected with brother Hyung-sik via video call. He says he felt guilty "losing" her at market, prayed everyday to find her.

Myung-sook thanked police, says she'll live happily with her family for the rest of her life.

British "pickup artist" Nicholas Coakley aka "Explorer Nick"- who sexually harassed women on the streets/hotels of Asia, illegally filmed them and posted footage online for profit- has had his 1 year 2 month prison sentence confirmed by S. Korea's Supreme Court, appeal rejected.
Before the trial, Coakley appealed that his 263 days of detention in a Danish detention centre before being extradited to Korea should be excluded from original sentence, but the court rejected his claim, and said the original judgment was justified. yna.co.kr/view/AKR202107…
S. Korea's Supreme Court said "Even if Mr. A was detained in a Danish detention centre, the detention is governed by Danish law cannot be considered the same as detention in domestic criminal justice procedures."

그럼 왜 이게 문제가 되는가?yna.co.kr/view/AKR202104…

I think today I've seen a record amount of homophobic incidents in S. Korea since I've started tracking this junk. 5 in total.

1/ SBS censorship of gay kiss scene in Bohemian Rhapsody continues to make waves. Now a #bohemiankisschallenge going on online.
2/ Homophobic group sues bisexual author, claiming they were left traumatised after she 'tricked' them into donating money to Seoul Pride in 2017.

Meanwhile, Seoul Pride denouces it as homophobia and bullying.
3/ Same-sex Korean couple sues national health insurance for cancelling their family insurance and violating their rights.

In a Seoul mayoral TV debate between candidates Ahn Cheol-soo and Keum Tae-sup, Ahn revealed how he's given in to the homophobic lobby. "Opposing discrimination is obvious. Individuals human rights should be protected. But human rights of others [homophobes] are very precious".
Seoul mayor candidate Ahn then took San Francisco to make his point, saying that @SFPride takes place south in Castro District, "away from city centre" where "people who are willing to see the parade see it [unlike Seoul where it's forced in people faces in the city centre]".
Ahn: "If we have a queer festival in [Seoul centre] Gwanghwamun, some will come on their own volition, but others come for many reasons or even bring their children [who will be exposed to it]. We should respect those who don't want it [pride]".

Where to start... Ok, remember how a few years ago, S. Korea's #1 "Christian" homophobe Joseph Joo and his crew were 'tricked' into donating money to Seoul Pride? He sued at the time for fraud, won.

He and his chums are now suing for mental damage/trauma. ohmynews.com/NWS_Web/View/a…
Here's a full background to the story: cable channel EBS ran programme introducing "LGBT" to viewers, with a person each representing the L/G/B/T.

Author Eun Ha-sun was the "B" for bisexual on the programme.

"Pastor" Joseph Joo, who is known to be S. Korea's most vocal homophobe and bigot and runs the "Anti-Homosexuality Christian Solidarity" (and says gays are Nazis) was so upset that he ran a campaign against EBS and protested outside the HQ.
