Don’t watch Love Island..period but the current series does raise the issue of how difficult it is for disabled people to meet and date other able bodied people.
It can be a minefield of picking their way together through awkward moments that can lead to misunderstandings in the early stages at least until they both get to know each other well enough to relax and accept each other’s differences.
Meds and their effects can really throw a spanner in the works leading to poor communication. Many people with disabilities struggle behind the scenes with self confidence and low self esteem. To date a disabled person you got to go the extra mile and learn to understand them.
That is no easy challenge but the results can be really positive even amazing if the abler bodied person refrains from being judgemental in the early stages of the relationship and is patient in getting to know them. They can discover the talents and uniqueness of that person!
It is only then that the differences that appeared negative at first and a barrier to intimacy and love recede into the background and the important aspects of their relationship is all that really matters! Love conquers all!
I won’t say I’m an expert in these things but perhaps I have learnt like others through experience and living each day as a disabled person who was once extremely fit and able bodied that you must be patient and love yourself before you can even begin to love others! 🤷‍♂️

Been doing some research on the comparison between U.K. manufactured Cadbury’s chocolate and Irish manufactured bars. Many consumers in Northern Ireland are prepared to even travel into the ROI to stock up with their Irish Cadbury’s. 👇
Now I thought this was all down to flag waving or plain imagination but it seems that consumers swear on their last square of chocolate that the Irish version has retained the full cream flavour of Cadbury’s as it used to be. 👇
There is some evidence that this might be the case as other products such as crisps made in Southern Ireland are also considered more tasty by a loyal army of northern consumers than their U.K. counterparts.

I reckon that both English and Irish people can agree on one thing with all the food shortages and empty shelves at the local supermarket. Brexit’s coming home!
Having real problems getting my usual supply of Evian mineral water, Bread and other essentials from Tesco’s and Sainsburys in the weekly deliveries. Not recovered yet from operation to drive yet so really pissed off with the shortages.
If I want Spar products I will shop in Spar! What’s so hard to understand @sainsburys!

The people of Derry will not stand for the British Government’s decision to block any prosecutions of former serving soldiers guilty of serious crimes including that of murder! See video!

This is a blatant injustice unacceptable in any state that claims to respect the rule of law and has been sanctioned at the highest levels of the judiciary and government which together have been shown to have been complicit in an ongoing coverup over the past 50 years.
David Cameron’s acknowledgement that the Bloody Sunday killings were unlawful was no more than a token apology on behalf of previous British Government’s failure to accept their innocence but justice must be seen to be done and that means bringing those responsible to court! 😡

Apparently it was reported in the Sunday Times that 4,000 women have reported problems with their menstrual cycle since taking the Covid jab. Of course the pro-vaccine lobby will argue and dismiss it as a risk worth taking just like the blood-clotting & inflammation of the heart.
I first came across and tweeted this latest concern that was centred around women courtesy of a podcast my daughter told me about. It was based on the testimony of women who had no menstrual cycle problems for decades until they took the Covid jab.
The ladies who openly expressed their own concerns on the podcast advised others experiencing the same with no history of previous delays, missed periods or significantly heavier than usual bleeding to report it to the relevant authorities via the yellow card or by calling them.

The logic behind the case for taking the Covid vaccines has been seriously flawed given the inability of anyone either in government or in the medical side to produce firm evidence that any of them actually work other than citing a reduction in deaths from Covid variants so far.
A reduction in deaths could be explained by a number of things such as seasonal factors or impact of lockdown, people by on large taking more precautions etc. No one single factor stands out as a one fit explanation so we are still no further forward in understanding the stats!
What we do know is that trillions of dollars are being milked out if this pandemic by the big pharma companies.

Secondly no matter how hyped up these variants are, they still belong to the same family of virus’s known as the flu, so it’s a flu virus with a nasty twist.

My update: Had the last dressing removed on Monday of this week from my new hip joint. Had a nasty concern over possible infection but turned out not the case though was was taken to AE on the 14th June and left sitting in a wheelchair for 9 hours awaiting results.
Making good progress with really clean precision incision line where opened up in surgery after 28 staples removed by district nurses in two stages. Still have pain but early days yet! Using heavy pain relief at night plus muscle relaxant to give me a reasonable nights sleep.
Through it all I have persevered and hopefully my inner determination will help me succeed. Nurses & neighbours are quite surprised at my progress and attitude so far when they see me so that’s reassuring and something to focus on. Mind over matter! #unbroken
