To create a Nationally managed economy, you must make economic war against local economies. To create a Globally managed economy, you must make economic war against the individual economies of nations.

Capitalism as practiced at our American outset relied heavily on the ideal of market individualism. Our history of law and politics moved towards centralization and federally managed markets with the emergence of a corporate dominated economy displacing market individualism.

Foner and Genovese argued that Capitalism to be practiced faithfully required the politics and culture of free labor, and in such practice would avoid Corporate liberalism which tended towards more nationalized corporate tendencies which led to a certain kind of Marxism.

What we forget today is that much of the success of early American capitalism was rooted in a free market that itself was the basis of Liberty, Community, and Individual Liberty, which explains why the State was and should always be viewed as subordinate to society.

Such free markets really don't exist in any significant way across the U.S. today.

Local Farmers markets may be the best example. But, with the proliferation of Corporate Liberalism the corporate elite and govt officials come together to form an aristocratic class that allows themselves to be the beneficiaries, lobbyists, and chief regulators of corporatism.

This is best exemplified by the chief regulator, the SEC. Its current head is Gary Gensler of... Goldman Sachs. Before him we had Corporate Lawyer Jay Clayton who had represented... Goldman Sachs, Bear Stearns, and JPMorgan.

The pattern continues back, and back, and back where corporate lawyers, or corporate executives lobby for their industry to Washington, eventually find a seat within the SEC to create their own regulations, and then run off back to Wall Street to exploit the system they managed.

The revolving door isnt meant to protect the rights of individuals or communities, but to protect the entrenchment of corporate liberalism and its centralizing tendencies which have little to no place in a free market, taking us 1 step closer to that specific form of Marxism.
