1. Some claim that the ‘same DNA’ claim was made to create a bridge with Muslims for Ghar Wapasi by creating a common ground. The intention is legitimate as ways have to be found for reconversion of Muslims too. But the ‘same DNA’ claims will achieve the exact opposite. Read on.
2. The claim of sameness between two groups does create a flow of followers from one group to another. But the group which gains followers is the one which is surer of its identity firstly and absolutely confident of its peculiar distinctness secondly. This group is Muslims.
3. On the other hand, the group which loses followers is the one which is less clear or completely confused about its identity and has no particular vision of the distinctness and superiority of its own group. This group is Hindus.
4. Thus by claiming sameness at this stage between Hindus and Muslims is to convince Muslims more of their superiority and to confuse Hindus even more about their 'sameness' with others.
5. The correct strategy for the weak group here (Hindus), is to first chart out every single point of difference between Hinduism and Islam, so that Hindus are clear about what not to cede and what to claim as universal.
6. Once there is no confusion left about the differences between Hinduism and Islam, once the danger of Hindus losing their number in confusion to the other side subsides, they can think of creating bridges with individuals while still battling the ideology for a final victory.
7. To do the opposite will also achieve the opposite ends. Hindu leadership currently engages in this confusion. But we as Hindus, have a responsibility to not let our brothers be confused.
