•Swati Nakshatra -

Terminalia Arjuna is associated with this nakshatra.
From ancient times this herb is used in ayurvedic medicines. Ajrun tree is well known as cardiac tonic. It helps to fight stress induced heart problems. It is very good antioxidants for the body.

•Vishakha / Anuradha Nakshatra -

Ceylon ironwood/ Nagkesar is associated with these nakshatra.
According to Ayurveda it is good for improving digestion due to it's laghu (easy to digest) property.This herb also act as blocking agent for bleeding & it's used for medicinal oils

•Jyeshta Nakshatra -

Semal Tree is associated with this nakshatra. n Ayurveda it is referred as aphrodisiac, astringent & tonic. It is used in the treatment of asthma, diarrhea, weakness, wound, leucorrhoea, anemia, seminal disorders and skin problems.

•Mula Nakshatra -

Boswellia serrata/ Salai is a plant that produces Indian frankincense.
It is well known Ayurvedic medicine used in arthritis. It relieves pain, swelling, stiffness, crepitus and improves joint mobility.

Guna (qualities) of Salai tree –
Teekshna – penetrating in nature
Laghu – light to digest
Twachya – its good for skin, improves complexion.
Raktha shodak – It purifies blood and used in blood related diseases such as bleeding disorders, menorrhagia, ulcers, skin conditions etc.

•Purva Ashadha Nakshatra -

Calamus Pseudotenuis/ Rattan Cane is associated with this nakshatra. As per Ayurveda it is used in Astringent, antidiarrhoeal, anti-inflammatory,chronic fevers, piles, convulsions and cramps.

•Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra -

Artocarpus Heterophyllus/ Jackfruit is associated with this nakshatra. It is an Ayurvedic tree used for the treatment of wounds, Bell’s palsy, increasing sperm count, improve the body strength, diarrhea, skin diseases and cases of poisoning.

Medicinal properties of Jack fruit:
Rasa (Taste)-Sweet,Kashaya (Astringent)
Guna (Qualities) – Guru (Heavy), Snigdha (Slimy)
Vipaka – Madhura (Undergoes sweet taste after digestion)
Veerya (Potency) – Sheeta (Cold)
Karma (Actions) –Ripened fruit is Vata pitta shamaka (reduces)

•Shravana Nakshatra -

Calotropis gigantea/Arka is associated with this nakshatra. It is widely used in many Ayurvedic treatments, both externally (ksharasutra) and internally.

Medical property of this plant-
Rasa (taste) – Katu (pungent)Tikta (bitter) Guna- laghu/lightness

Ruksha (dryness), Teekshna
Vipaka – Katu – Undergoes pungent taste conversion after digestion.
Veerya - Ushna –hot potency
Effect on Tridosha – Because of its hot potency, it balances Vata and Kapha.
Red type’s flower has bitter and sweet taste. Hence it balances Pitta & Kapha.

•Dhanistha Nakshatra -

Prosopis cineraria/shami tree is associated with this nakshatra. It is immensely known for its spiritual uses. Goddess Lakshmi, lord Shiva, maa seeta, Shani dev is associated with this tree. It is Papanashini – Cleanses out sins.

Shami's medicinal properties:
Guna (qualities) - light to digest, Rooksha – dryness
Rasa (taste) –Kashaya,sweet
Vipaka- Katu – Undergoes pungent taste conversion after digestion
Veerya -Sheeta – Coolant (bark)
Fruit-ushna – hot
Effect on Tridosha –Balances Kapha & Pitta.

•Shatabisha Nakshatra -

Neolamarckia cadamba/kadam tree is associated with this nakshatra. It is an ayurvedic medicine used for treating diabetes. It is also beneficial for the management of infections caused by a range of organisms. This herb is known to possess strong -

medicinal properties, which help to improve the health of the person.
It helps in Digestive disturbances, Parasitic infection, High cholesterol and triglycerides, Antibacterial activity, Musculoskeletal diseases, Fungal infections, Cancer, Anti-diabetic activity.

• Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra -

Mangifera Indica/Mango is associated with this nakshatra.

•Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra -

Azadirachta Indica/Neem is associated with this nakshatra.

•Revati Nakshatra -

Madhuca longifolia/Mahua is associated with this nakshatra. Mahua act as herbal remedy for respiratory disorders. Mahua oil has rich properties & used in skin disease & headache. It is used as a fermenting initiator in many Ayurvedic medicines.

It is described in Ayurveda for treating skin diseases, nerve disorders, cough, burning sensation and diarrhea.

Vipaka – Madhura (Undergoes Sweet taste after digestion)
