This image looks like a network of neurons, but it isn't. It's a map of strings of galaxies spanning a billion lightyears. Each shining pixel is a galaxy of a hundred billion stars.

When I see images like this, I can't help but wonder if the Cosmos is the mind of god.

That would mean, of course, that we are part of that Mind. God isn't separate from us. We are parts of the god-mind.

We don't know what consciousness is. We know consciousness is something matter and energy produces when combined in sufficiently complex organization.

Certainly the Cosmos is complex enough. After all, it contains billions of consciousness right here on Earth.

We are not separate from the Earth. We were not implanted here from somewhere else. We grew out of the Earth, and our very bodies are made of atoms that were assembled in stars that exploded billions of years ago, spreading their components throughout the universe.

Life and consciousness seems to be an inevitable part of how the Cosmos works, an unavoidable result of cosmological physics. Obviously. Because otherwise, we wouldn't be here.

The universe is infinitely more complex and interconnected than is any individual human.

It makes sense to theorize that the Cosmos itself may be conscious.

Just as individual blood cells seem to operate independently within our bodies, so too do we function as apparently autonomous entities within the Universe of which we are a part.

I say our autonomy is only "apparent," because we could not, we would not, exist without the entire rest of the Universe, in the same way a blood cell would die if removed from our bodies.

Our skins are not the outline of our selves. They're the inline of the Cosmos.

Just as our bone marrow creates blood cells, the Universe creates us.

We are living cells in the mind of god.
