Shorter Republicans: you have to let people infect you. At work, at school, in restaurants, shops and gyms... You will be required to let the virus in. It’s bananas crazy and likely will be lethal for God knows how many Americans, but that’s their gambit. axios.com/republicans-co…
So much for “small government conservatism.” Now it’s big, BIG government they want:
- To ban books & dictate lesson plans
- To tell businesses they can’t protect their customers from a deadly virus
- To tell social media companies who to allow on their privately-owned platforms
All of this plus barring nearly anyone who doesn’t choose the “right” party from voting, overturning any election result they don’t like and trying to force right wing religious diktats on the rest of us, particularly women. Under his eye indeed. It’s Handmaid’s Tale meets Alien.

Trump’s Republican Party:
-Book bans
-China/Russia-style memory laws mandating teaching only the National Myth that soothes the racial majority
-Voting as a privilege only for Dear Leader’s Party
-No covid defense or relief
-No vaccinations
-No infrastructure
-Rule of the gun
-Women’s liberties strictly limited/supervised by related men or the State. Goal: refocus women on childbearing/rearing.
-Government/court-sanctioned discrimination if practiced by members of the Preferred Religion.
-State or public violence sanctioned to stop minority protests.
—All who refuse to praise the Dear Leader and accept his Big Lie are enemies of the State, including media, police, even generals who resist.
-The racial majority must continually be uplifted and mythologized.
-Immigration must be limited to maintain the current racial balance.

If you get a chance you really should read the Plessy v Ferguson decision and the fiery dissent by Justice John Harlan. Hits on everything from “separate but equal” to blaming the victim for feeling aggrieved by segregation to the amount of “colored blood” that makes one Black.
A healthy reminder that the very concept of “race,” “whiteness” and “non-whiteness” was INVENTED IN AMERICA by the people who colonized America, in the 17th century. They literally made it up, in order to organize a society based on land theft and slavery. theguardian.com/news/2021/apr/…

What happens when the first teacher is arrested for teaching about Jim Crow in a memory laws state?
Will it become illegal to possess copies of the 1619 Project in memory laws states? Or How to Be An Anti-Racist? At what point do they start banning James Baldwin, along with the Ruby Bridges children’s book?
Will this be a Salem Witch Trials situation, where any kid can point to any teacher who angers them and accuse them of teaching that the founders owned slaves and thus making white students feel uncomfortable, and that teacher is arrested for breaking the memory law?

George Orwell is in his grave realizing he was far too optimistic in his writing. What next? Republican Thought Police monitoring classrooms to make sure words like “inequality” and “injustice” are never used and that the “heartwarming story of anti-integration parents” is told?
These “anti-CRT parents” are the new Daughters of the Confederacy; demanding that history be softened to soothe their fragile egos by lionizing their ancestors. They demand that white people be elevated in history as virtuous and nonwhite people reduced to being quietly grateful.
That, of course, is called “white supremacy.” One might even call it … daresay… “white fragility,” which happens to be one of the books they have declared an Enemy Of Civilization!!! And thus, a book about a brave little Black girl is verboten! news.yahoo.com/anti-critical-…
