In aid of my benefit year I will be playing one match in the morning, one in the afternoon. For those not familiar with cricket, this is like playing extra time in a Euros final, ONLY TOUGHER.
It’s not called the Honourable Artillery Company for nothing. Absolutely amazing there’s a cricket ground in the heart of the City!
At the Honourable Artillery Ground, where once London’s archers honed their skills, @Rathbones1742 have made 122 off their 20 overs. In the first of the two matches I am playing today, I bowl 4 tight overs, showcasing my control of swing and cut.
Although @peterfrankopan has just hit a huge 6 into an office block, there is muttering among the crowd about the Southgate-esque failure of @CCampbell_Agent to send fan favourite J̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶G̶r̶e̶a̶l̶i̶s̶h̶ Tom Holland into bat.
Worth pointing out that my strike rate in my last 2 innings was 150.
Tea is taken. The Actors need to score 129 off 30 overs to secure victory in this venerable marquée fixture.
An absolute thriller sees @AuthorsCC win by 1 run!
Sport was very much the winner - but so too were we.
Wickets all round. I take a metronomic 1-13.
Very much hoping that this puts a smile back on the nation’s face.
No football, but something even more exciting tonight...
“Who else but Bruno Dumont to take us on a musical journey thru the religious awakening of Joan of Arc? Developing his own style of electro-rock opera, the French auteur delivers a cinematic feast that, in its stylistic exuberance, forges a unique path to spiritual profundity.”
It’s certainly the best French rock opera about a 15th century saint that I’ve seen, & I don’t mind saying it.
I don't know anything about cycling, but should do, because my great-uncle was the first Englishman to compete in the Tour de France. He was seen off from Paris by Josephine Baker!
Today's episode of @TheRestHistory is on the 6 wives of Henry VIII. How come he kept marrying? How did his marital record influence the Reformation? Which of his queens would have won Love Island?
With particular thanks to my daughter, Eliza, & her friend, Anna, for their expert opinion on how Henry VIII’s six wives would have done as #LoveIsland contestants
