🦠🦠🦠⬆️ 48,553🤢

Looking at cases by swab date today (middle photo) compared to yesterday (RH photo) we can see that a small number of cases are still being added to 6-7-21 and several thousand to 12-7-21

⚰️⚰️ 60-day deaths (69) 28 day deaths (63)
⬆️ 80% on same day last wk
Deaths in a 7 day rolling avg ⬆️ nearly 48%

ENGLAND positivity ⬆️ to 8.1% on 10-7-21.

South Tyneside has a scary 22% positivity and that level suggests insufficient testing.

And the Wembley ⚽️ finals is not in that mix as that is positivity as of 10-7-21. Semi finals maybe.
🏥 admissions, in hospital and ventilation beds continue to rise, especially when looking at individual nation data which indicate that

ADMISSIONS c800 (last seen early March)

🛌 IN hospital nearly at 4K (c3945)Last seen end March as with

Ventilator 🛌 at c550
As @chrischirp points out the NE is highlighting the direction of travel

Just two doubling away from its overall peak

And you can see how high cases are right now to more to come

But rising markedly in ALL Regions

This is unforgivable and wilful by Johnson and #CovidJavid
Look at this (based on yesterday’s data)

Madness‼️. Crazy‼️.

Series of studies concentrating on children
Including a study where weekly PCR testing of all in 300 households (1192 people) carried out Sept 2020-Feb 21 (pre Delta) with additional symptomatic testing
The video link to the presentation is here and the relevant part is at about 43 minutes in.

The thread summarises the key messages from the studies well but I add here a slide that shows the relative risk of hospitalisation within age groups 0-4 yrs, 5-11 yrs and 12-17yrs. With the youngest and oldest fairly similar

The middle cohort was least likely to be hospitalised Image

The Delta Variant Is Surging in Missouri - The Atlantic

In just 5 weeks, a Hospital took in as many COVID-19 patients as it did over 5 months last year. Ten minutes away, another big hospital, Cox Medical Center South, has been inundated just as quickly.
theatlantic.com/health/archive…
“We only get beds available when someone dies, which happens several times a day,” said Terrence Coulter, the critical-care medical director at CoxHealth
“It feels worse this time because we’ve seen it before,” Amelia Montgomery, a nurse at CoxHealth, told me. “Walking back into the COVID ICU was demoralizing.”

Those ICUs are also filling with younger patients, in their 20s, 30s, 40s, inc many with no underlying health problems” Image

Another said that the whole of his group had now tested positive with the “Wembley variant”.

One England fan said he had taken a PCR test on the Friday prior to the match, attended the match on Sunday, and then received a positive result a day later…..BUT
..The same fan had taken a lateral flow test on Sunday which had been negative.

“Goodness knows who got it off me, crammed like sardines in Wembley Park after the game Sunday and the Tube itself and the trains,” the post said. Image

Very angry today.

🦠🦠🦠 51,870 cases. If we stick around 2% being hospitalised that is OVER 1k people a day hospitalised and we are already at c750 in a day.

⚰️ 60 day deaths (57) 28 day deaths (49)

⬆️ 57.4% on a rolling 7 day average & c.69% on the same day last week. ImageImageImage
Those will be deaths from infections swabbed mostly 16-20 days ago so let’s just have a look

Cases by swab date 20-27 June? Range c10k to c18.3k.

Average 16,361 cases a day.

Now, 7-14th July 27.8k - ⬆️45k & they are still adding cases to 12th July so the numbers will ⬆️⬆️ ImageImage
That is an average of 36,690 cases per day 7-14 July and because these are cases by swab date and their are processing delays several thousand likely to be added to these numbers

More then double 2-3 weeks ago

Deaths will follow.

And Wembley ⚽️ finals will only just be landing Image

Do watch. The Johnson-Javid #CovidCapitulation is going down like a bowl of cold sick around the world.

Taiwan crystal clear about the fact it is not ethical to do what we are doing - removing the umbrella when it is still raining - including from children
The pandemic is not under control.

The population is only partially protected and the ☔️ is full of holes.

As other countries’ PH point out U.K. recklessness is also a risk to THEIR country encouraging high risk responses from the worst in their country (eg some US states).
ITALY “To err is human- to persist is diabolical”

Unimaginable that the U.K., with the calibre of scientists and PH that we have is setting this diabolical response. A danger to the world.

‘Urgent need’ to improve ventilation in buildings as Covid-19 restrictions lift

This is July 2021. 18 months after the pandemic started.

And a LONG time after the evidence was good that the virus transmits airborne and that good ventilation is critical uk.news.yahoo.com/urgent-improve…
Why is the report being commissioned only now when Johnson and Covid are removing restrictions and - for instance in the civil service - FORCING people to stop working from home and return to the office on public transport.
What DETAILED advice has the Gov given even civil service depts?

HOW are their buildings to be audited?

By whom?

With what training & expertise?

Have they required & funded that good CO2 monitors should be purchased?

What about HEPA filters? What type/standard/ positioning
