Alhumdulillah I spent 30 years under the guidance of my respected father & teacher, Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb DB. I request for your special Duaas during this difficult time as he is currently under a ventilator. We make Duaa that Allah grants him complete Shifaa. Ameen. 1
Some of the salient features and characteristics will be stated here although my Walid Saheb DB did not generally approve of this out of Tawadhu. 1. Always gave preference to others 2. Always humble 3. Always punctual on Mamoolat 4. Always sincere 5. Always had a smiling face 2
Unique incident of my respected Walid Saheb DB. Once after completing his training under Hazrat Gangohi RA after 40 days in the Khanqah, he narrated a dream to His Sheikh that he was in a boxing match with Shaytaan, Hazrat RA advised my father that he will defeat Shaytaan! 3
Unique Incident of my respected Walid Saheb. My respected father was so humble that he would never feel shy to carry heavy loads in the house or do basic chores. I personally carried heavy items with my father DB and he never showed any irritation. 3
Another incident. My father always stood to uplift and encourage others. Once I wanted to do a certain course on Islamic Finance and I was penniless, my father took out his own funds and encouraged me to support others and move forward in this field. 5
Islaah of my respected father DB. My father was very lenient on all his students but when it came to his own children and particularly myself, he never felt shy to make our Islaah even in front of others. Once he pinched my ears in full view of the entire Madrassah. 6
Respect for Asatizah. My father had so much respect and Adab for his Asatizah that he would go out of his way to make them feel comfortable and even look after his Asatizahs family and children. He never compromised on respecting his Asatizah and treated them with high Adab. 7
Zuhd and Taqwaa. My father DB had never placed his foot in a shopping mall and once when he was forced to inspect an item, he moved so vigorously through the mall than one thought he was fleeing from something. He later told me that these places are the dens of Shaytaan. 8
Our Sheikh Hazrat Aqdas Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri Saheb DB had so much of Eetimad and trust on my father as his student that Hazrat would direct many people to the guidance of my father. This is a sign of Qabuliyyah and trust given by the teacher to the student. 9
Helping others. My father always helped others no matter who the person was. Even non Muslims were helped. On one occasion, my father stopped his car to help a poor non Muslim who needed assistance. Despite not having much means, he helped everyone and encouraged them. 10

The current violence and mayhem seen in South Africa is partly due to the ill effects of Riba and interest. These poor people are given unsecured loans with interest rates as high as 25% with additional charges. They end up taking multiple cash loans which they can’t pay. (MID) 1
It is clearly evident that the Government has failed in providing real socio economic justice to the poor masses in the face of massive state looting and corruption. The economic damage of such looting far outweighs this current economic damage we witness. 2
The Government of #SouthAfrica must retrospect and change its economic policy especially that of tenders for Govt work to force economic growth, employment and empowerment to the poor and unemployed masses. We cannot be dishing out tenders to friends, family and associates! 3
