2 updates to NFL COVID protocols, per memo obtained by AP. 1. Clubs traveling to joint practices will be permitted to have their daily maximum of Tier 1 & Tier 2 individuals (either 100 or 140, depending on club’s vaccination percentage) travel to and attend a joint practice.
The club must limit number of individuals traveling on team transportation to 85 (pursuant to the Travel Protocol) but may travel additional Tier 1 & Tier 2 staff up to the applicable daily Tier limits separately to attend the practice.
2. Protocol Enforcement: Beginning at start of Training Camp, clubs will be required to develop a method to visually identify fully vaccinated Tier 1 & Tier 2 individuals. Utilizing color coded wristbands or credentials is recommended but clubs free to implement other methods.
More: Family members may attend training camp practice in accordance with guidelines set forth for fans attending training camp. Players & Tiered staff may not mingle or interact with their families or guests at the club facility following a practice
Clubs may have fans on the sidelines so long as they remain 20 feet away from players and Tiered staff. Fans may also sit in the stands, even if the first row is less than 20 feet removed from the sidelines.
Press box will be a fully vaccinated space for the 2021 season. Individuals that are briefly accessing the press box to perform their job function (such as food service staff who are simply dropping food off) are not required to be vaccinated (although it is strongly recommended)

Washington, Arizona, Indianapolis and Los Angeles Chargers remain under 50% vaccination for COVID-19 as of today, per a source familiar with the NFL’s vaccination rates. Pittsburgh, Miami, Carolina & Denver have highest rates & are among 7 teams with at least 85% vaccinated.
Teams on the lower end of the vaccination chart face potential competitive disadvantages, especially because the #NFL doesn’t plan to cancel any games this season, per my source. Story upcoming.
