1/ On the eve of the @coolcatsnft 1/1 giveaway, I want to share smtg I've been kicking around

Cool Cats CAO (cat-centralized autonomous organization), a DAO for holding the rarest cats and giving community ownership

2/ For context, there are 9 1/1 Cool Cats that exist — of which 7 are already owned by existing cat holders

Of the two that aren't released yet (the devil cat, and the golden lucky cat), the Cool Cats team will give them away to the community

3/ These cats fetch the prize of 50+ ETH. Winning 1 would be life-changing for some (me)

I put together a proposal that could simultaneously:
+ give some1 life-changing money
+ ensure the lucky cat is a focal point of the community
+ make sure the cat has exposure to the world

4/ enter Cool Cats CAO

a DAO that will invest in and hold these cats to be shared by the community + will ensure to be a good steward of the cool cat and broader NFT community

5/ Regardless of the recipient of the giveaway, the plan for the Cool Cats CAO will be to form, crowd-fund the necessary funds for a bid on the cat (~50 ETH), and offer the bid to the recipient

6/ The lucky cat owners will have 3 options

1. Not accept the offer, which then the DAO will either dissolve or rebid for the next cat
2. Accept the offer at face value. Which then the DAO would pay the recipient in a private sale, and retain the golden lucky cat...

...or 3) Accept the offer but with negotiation for stake in the governance of the DAO

The mandate of Cool Cat CAO as to be good stewards of the cat community, holding and sharing the ownership of the most prized and beloved cats in the collection

8/ The plan is for the DAO to bid and hopefully acquire at least 1 of the rare cats

After that, the Cool Cat CAO members will discuss future plans: e.g., the acquisition of other rare cats (e.g., other 1/1s, exotic 2s, full froggo)

9/ In every step of the way, the Cool Cat CAO will be good stewards of the NFT community, participating in Discord conversation, posting thought pieces, creating content to promote the NFT space, and even collaborate with artists, projects, and of course the @coolcatsnft team
