New: An obit for a rich, evil man.

William Regnery II, a reclusive multimillionaire who used his inherited family fortune to finance vile fascist groups in the hopes of one day forming an American whites-only ethnostate, has died.

He was 80 yrs old.

Regnery is often credited with being one of the main moneymen behind the "alt-right."

You might recognize his last name. That's because his extended family amassed its fortune from the influential right-wing publishing house, @Regnery.

His grandfather & namesake, textile magnate William H. Regnery, was a founding member of the infamous America First Committee led by anti-Semite Charles Lindbergh, which opposed U.S. intervention in WWII & counted many Nazi sympathizers among its ranks. huffpost.com/entry/william-…
In 1999 Regnery convened a conference in Florida for prominent white nationalists at which he declared his belief in breaking up the US into enclaves based on race & religion, a plan that would undoubtedly involve the violent ethnic cleansing of nonwhites huffpost.com/entry/william-…
Later, he used his fortune to start two influential white supremacist groups: the secretive Charles Martel Society, & then the innocuous sounding National Policy Institute.

Ultimately tho, as @cassiepmiller told me: “Regnery’s real legacy is not what he built but the immense harm that he caused."
