Hello everyone! 👋 There are a LOT of you who are new, so I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself! Here's a brief thread on me and what content you can expect to find here. 🧵

Firstly! I'm not actually a geologist!
I do love geology dearly and studied it for a while, but my professional/scientific expertise is in the intersections between environmental equity, freshwater ecology, environmental management, hydrology and public health.

Put simply, my scientific mission is this; to keep shit (sometimes literal) out of your drinking water.
This field means that I dabble in a lot of sub-fields that are tangentially related, and have a decent understanding of a wide range of scientific disciplines!

Currently I am working on a project related to managing aquatic invasive species in Pennsylvania.
I also organize and write on a variety of queer history, activism, and trans issues specifically.

A few other things about me that aren't going to change; I am unapologetically queer. I am unapologetically bisexual. I am unapologetically trans. I am unapologetically disabled. I am unapologetically mentally ill.
I believe in being defiantly honest and radically kind.

A few other things that will likely come up -- I have 5 cats, I sign things off with purple hearts, sometimes I wear makeup (my pfp right now is from Pride this year), and I educate, I activate. This means that most of my threads will have action items attached.

I am based in the United States. For those who may not be aware, the United States is currently undergoing the most severe period of anti-trans legislation in history. Most of this is being proposed (and passed) through state legislatures.

Additionally, the Equality Act, which would add LGBT+ individuals to existing Civil Rights Legislation Protections NATIONWIDE has passed the house and is headed to the Senate for a vote. PLEASE contact your senators and tell them to PASS the Equality Act.
