The Present Holds The Answer 🌱

Why effective investors don't need to predict the future, a thread ⤵️
At Titan, we understand that forecasting is especially difficult when it comes to financial markets, given their inherent complexity.

This creates a dilemma for investors who view the investing “game” as a competition of forecasting ability. 🔮 /1
A core aspect of our analytical process removes the need to forecast the countless micro and macro variables that affect investment outcomes.

The beauty of expectations investing is that we don’t have to correctly predict the future, we just need to understand the present.🌱 /2
In the words of Benchmark's @mattcohler, "Our job is not to see the future, it’s to see the present very clearly." /3
Expectations investing involves reverse engineering a company’s valuation by using its current price - a known variable - as our starting point.

We then ask ourselves the simple question: “What has to happen for this price to make sense?” /4
By comparing our views around revenue growth, profit margins, and investment quantities to consensus expectations, we are left with a binary outcome. /5
If our view indicates that consensus expectations are too low and will need to be raised, which could drive stock prices over time, there might be a high probability we can make a profitable investment. 📈 /6
By spending the majority of our time developing our view of these drivers in relation to the current consensus, we know we are staying focused on what matters most. /7

Nuclear Conviction: Titan's Investment In #Uranium 📈

Titan is now invested in uranium, the mission-critical feedstock for nuclear power generation. We've expressed this thesis by investing in two leading uranium mining stocks: NexGen Energy $NXE and Denison Mines $DNN. Image
We're incredibly bullish on nuclear power - and its primary feedstock, uranium - as a multi-year secular trend for three primary reasons. A quick thread ⬇️
1) Robust Global Demand

Nuclear is the only carbon-free, cheap, consistent source of baseload power generation available today. We expect nuclear demand to steadily grow at 2-3% per year between 2021-2030. #Uranium is a critical input to fulfilling this nuclear demand.

1/ Over the past week we've received a record amount of inbound questions from new investors about what's going on in the markets.

The most important one in our view is what the path looks like *going forward* coming out of this past week's events.

👇 A QUICK THREAD:
2/ First of all, this is not a one-time event. A paradigm shift has occurred.

What we're witnessing is not something that just suddenly emerged over the past week, but has rather been brewing beneath the surface for years, driven by decades of pent up frustration.
3/ To borrow a term from public policy, we believe the "Overton window" has shifted on investing.

Everyday investors are fed up with being shut out and are demanding the seat at the table they've been denied for decades, one we've been trying to offer since our founding.
